Don't blame yourself..that uphill extra 40 sec. saved he's day. Other wise it was quite normal TT..

First time i agree with Biathlon. No need to start that pointless doping discussion.

Yes, let's keep the sportives perspective here. Talking about doping is pretty pointless (let's not forget that a Schleck paid money to Fuentes...).

Either way, exciting finish. And once again, I'd like to point out that Armstrong is very far from his old performances.

Battle for the 3rd place.

Frank out of 3rd by 34 seconds?

Not a battle at all... unless Frank has one of his traditional crashes descending tomorrow... then it might become a battle.

Riis complains that "Contador once again got too much pace from the motors - they have to 'go'". The reporter asked him if he'd make an official complaint - and then they 'cut', so we didn't get to see the answer.

My guess is that he'd say "no".

He is...

but if you look at what he said when I came back (that he looked at the Tour and thought "I can beat these guys"Wink... he's not far off.

Contador, Kloden... didn't ride.

Wiggins wasn't what he is now in the mountains.

Andy gave up a bunch of time due to a bonk.

And he's ahead of everyone else.

In last year's tour... he would have definitely been in the running. This year has better riders... and he's not there. Contador is now riding what Lance did in his winning years.

Lance is riding like Sastre road in Lance's winning years.... perhaps a bit better. He went from dominant to merely competitive.

I made this prediction on the Stage 17 thread:

My prediction for the order after the TT tomorrow:

1st Contador
2nd A. Schleck
3rd Armstrong
4th Wiggins
5th Kloden
6th F. Schleck
7th Nibali
8th Vande Velde

Only a minute or so gap from 2nd to 6th.

The good thing is that, after all, the podium will possibly be for the cyclists who most deserved it. Even with that aberrated time gaps caused by the TTT, both Schlecks will probably be at the podium. The only doubt is about Evans' performance. Perhaps he could have been better hadn't he been forced to attack several times to try to discount some of his TTT losses.

Extreme Fanboyism 101:

Two Contador fanboys start with the "ZOMG CONTADOR IZ TEH PWNZORZ" comments as he passes the first check (km 18).

I politely retort that they should wait until the finish to take conclusions since Contador tends to fade.

One of them responds he didn't fade at the Dauphiné. I show that comparing intermediate checks, yes he did.

Contador passes the 25km check. In 7kms he's lost all the time he gained in the first 18kms plus a handful more.

Fanboys yell at me "HA! SEE?? UR WRONG"
They proceed to call me a Lance fanboy.

....

Some people are beyond help.

do not forghet also armstrong was once upon a time like contador.but now it is contador time

Contador is amazing. Andy Schleck isn't even close to his level in GT's, although he has the excuse of being 3 years younger. But I'm afraid Andy will never quite be up to that level.

I had some doubts or reserves about Contador, but they have now been taken completely away, this IS the new grand tour king for the next, let's say, 6/7 years. A rare talent.

qazaqa
Contador is old Armstrong
Armstrong is old Kloden
Kloden is still old Kloden
