this quote really sticks out to me
"The other teams think to themselves, 'why should we pull if Cav wins it in the end anyway?' If the other teams are that resigned, why do they come here with their sprinters? Then, you could leave your sprinters at home. Then it makes no sense to take a sprinter to the Tour."

Aldag frustrated by peloton's tactics.
Little cocky talking there..other teams does not give a damn how many stages Cavendish will win . Some stages winning record or not..For example Cervelo will probably work tomorrow.
Tomorrow they should be complaining.
P.S. Try to follow Haussler and Hushovd tomorrow Aldag.

As I heard Brian Holm say a few days ago: If they don't even try, they won't win either.
I agree with Columbia. If you've brought a sprinter to the Tour, but don't have any confidence in them, why bring them in the first place? |

Problem is, they don't want to work with Columbia, they think Cavendish is certain to win, but Columbia won't do everything. If columbia doesn't do anything none of the sprinters teams will win.
So yes Aldag, why do the other teams bring sprinters?

As we have a lot of coverage on Thor Hushovd and then on Cervelo. Thor and Carlos is not going to pull, so that leaves 7men. Carlos wants his men rested for the mountains so they don't want to stay in the front pulling on the flats where they are not so great. And Thor only have 1 guy that is not important in his sprint train. So they have to hope for some other team that are there for stage wins like Columbia to do the dirty work for them.
At least what Thor's personal trainer and others that follow him closely say. |

Only chance for Rabo in this year's Tour is Menchov will try to get KOM jersey....or maybe Freire will get a super-sprint-form and some stages
But it's a pity that after 5 stages, the Tour almost can't be 'good' for Rabo |

Menchov can make it good without him, as in the giro.

Nice to see Voeckler win the stage - I wonder if Ignatiev messed up his chances by attacking too far from the finish at 6km.
Cavendish' 3rd just confirms that he's going for points jersey. Anyone who believed the statements he made about being happy with 1 stage and not going for green, probably still thinks he only went to Milan San Remo for experience |

To be honest I think he was being truthful about both statements. I also think that once he realized he could win MSR he went for it, just as he's going for the green now that he has a stage win and might as well. |

Consider that Cavendish has since said about MSR that he purposefully aimed to fool his rival sprinters - by allowing himself to be dropped on climbs in Tirreno and to play down his own aims for the race. |
