Today, the Freiburg investigation will be fully available to the public. It's likely that Klöden will get in more trouble. |

This could be placed in both the Boonen Thread and here, but anyway:
Some of you may remember that David Kopp was tested positive in September 08. He asked for a B-analysis, and this one has now confirmed the A-results: Kopp has been tested positive for cocaine.
Unlike Boonen, his was taken during competition which means that a 2 year ban is likely.
So bye, bye to another ex-Gerolsteiner rider. |

Andreas Klöden travelled to the Freiburg University Clinic for an illegal blood transfusion after the first stage of the Tour de France 2006, an independent commission has ruled. In a report issued Wednesday afternoon, the commission which investigated doping practices carried out by doctors at the clinic said that three riders – Klöden, Matthias Kessler, and Patrik Sinkewitz – received transfusions of their own blood on Sunday, July 2, 2006.
Klöden, currently riding for Team Astana, has consistently denied the charges. Team Astana spokesman Philippe Maertens told Cyclingnews that he had no comment on the report at this time.
The independent commission examined charges that doctors Lothar Heinrich and Andreas Schmid ran an organized doping program from 1995-2006 for the team known as T-Mobile or Team Telekom.
Both Sinkewitz and his girlfriend, who admitted to transporting the riders, testified that the other two German riders accompanied them to the clinic. The woman's name was not published in the report. The three cyclists arrived at the clinic at about 6 PM, where they were met by team doctor Schmid. He led them to a darkened room, where "all three riders had their own blood transfused back into them." The whole process took about 45 minutes after which they then returned to France.
The commission rejected allegations that more, if not all, of the team's Tour de France squad, had gone to the clinic that evening. The rumours of another group visiting the clinic "could not be confirmed." In addition, according to the report, at least one persuasive witness said that it was noted that the three riders were not present at dinner. "If other riders on the team would have received transfusions with their own blood, then it would have to have been on another day."

As said, this and all the evidence that the investigation has found should be enough to get rid of Klöden. |

ASO: "Tom, stay away from the Tour please."
Boonen's lawyer has announced he wants to sue ASO for not inviting Boonen. His argument is that Valverde also has a bad reputation (because of OP), but is still allowed to ride the TdF. |

Stupid Boonen, sometimes he´s like a 15yo punk. It´s so unfair that he is so talented.

According to Sinkewitz, he and his girlfriend drove to Germany during the 2006 Tour for blood transfusions along with Kessler and Klöden.
Apparently, these transfusions at the clinic involved creating ficticious patients on the records. For instance a certain "Maier Ullrich". I wonder who that might be an alias for
Speaking of Kessler, his suspension ends in a month and a half...

Spanish Eurosport is so funny! During the Giro broadcasting they have said things like: "Valverde is inocent because spanish justice said it", "The CONI is just a private enterprise and they can say whatever they want but it doesn't matter", "If they don't allow him to race, it's a political and not a sport thing".

Can they suspend him for infractions from that long ago, I guess so if they are still going after Valverde from the Puerto evidence...
A shame, I think he has found a great role on the Astana team.
Oh well, another on bites the dust, although it seems like Sinkewitz is trying to bring some others down with him instead of taking the blame for getting caught. |

Nah, If Sinkewitz and his girlfriend wanted to, they would have named names two years ago and Sink would have probably only recieved 1 year suspension for cooperating.
.......that's exactly what happened.

That long? 2006?
The 'expiration date' is 10 years, as far as I remember. |

They had to gather proof. They cant do anything on one persons word. Can you imagine what one person could do to people if he could just starting to drop names after getting caught?
Some of them are mentioned in the post by Isso. For example it seems like collecting testimonies of others confirming the events have been a big part. People saying those three wasnt there for dinner for example. |
