Scratch that. In a press release, Bjarne Riis says that Nicki Sørensen has been so impressive during the classics that he's now OFF the Giro team and IN the Tour de France pre-squad. Klostergaard replaces Sørensen in the Giro. |

Klostergård will do good in the Giro, he could do very good in breackaways on some of flat and hilly stages.

Van Goolen's form is hopeless. So I don't know why he is Saxo's GC leader.
In Romandie he is also not doing great |

Well, he was promised in January that he'd be the leader at the Giro.

But maybe he was good in the classics because he is in a great form at the moment. And Giro starts next week not in 2 months like Le Tour so he could perform better in Giro if he had a good form in the classics I think. But you're probably more happy with him doing the Tour which is more important that Giro.

Strong allergy, apparently. It's become so bad that there's now a chance he'll be replaced by someone else for the Giro.
Sucks for him, he was promised months ago that he could be GC leader at the Giro and build his season around that.

secret weapon from the land down under.. Cameron Meyer??? If it's him, wasn't expecting a GT for him so soon, he's very young (turned 21 in January). |

Leipi is the team leader here. Armstrong 'just' going for a stage win. |

The podium I feel is likely:
1. Basso
2. Leipheimer
3. Menchov/Sastre

But is good to see Astana trying to win something other than Le Tour. They have so many captains to win every GT. |

Of Katusha's pre-selection of 10, the odd man out is....Robbie McEwen.
According to the team, they decided at the last moment that they wouldn't bring any sprinters (Swift won't like that comment, something tells me )

According to McEwen he still isn't fully recovered from his last crash, and not in good enough form. I think thats brilliant news for Swift, especially if he just get's given a free role to try whenever he wants to.

It's hard not to try to win the other GTs with guys like Contador, Leipheimer, Kloden, Zubeldia and Popovych (less Popovych and Zubeldia) but you never know.
