For the AFLD it is personal. I could honestly believe he said ok to lance to taking a shower and then changed his story. They truly hate him, and will do what ever it takes to catch him.

Screw the AFLD.... They hated him when he was winning and still don't want him to win. What a bunch of pansies. Maybe if the french riders trained like he did.

Problem with the french riders are, they're too presurized to win the tour. Wink

Uh, all the Americans are back with their extreme Armstrong bias. Guys, there's some rules, and Armstrong has to stay within these rules. They are there for a reason. When a tester arrives, let the guy test you. Don't go to Twitter and complain about it afterwards, don't go shower, don't go use products to cover up your dope.

There wouldn't have been any problems had Armstrong obeyed the rules. Please do not forget that.

Hm..mr. Armstong inside this 3 years what you have been away from top cycling..lot has changed..specialy about doping controls and rules. If you want to ride TdF beside Tour of California..you have to follow this rules. Dont act like tennis players lately..they keep wining when doping controls has just start to work there as in cycling we have already few years..

Isn't it reasonable to check on the credentials of a guy saying he's there to take urine/blood/hair samples?

And isn't it reasonable to assume that if you ask if it's okay to take a shower... and the guy there to test says it is... then it's okay to take a shower?

It looks like while they are "investigating"... nothing will come of this. One quote I noticed was: "AFLD president Pierre Bordry noted that the statement does not say that Armstrong is guilty of an infraction."

To me, that seems like a pretty clear indication that the AFLD will either do nothing, or give some sort of verbal censure that doesn't actually keep him from competing.

Honestly... I'm betting Lance is regretting coming back at this point. No real success on the road, a broken collarbone, drug tests occurring at a frequency 10-20 times as often as the next most tested rider, and now this. The guy has a big ego and nothing about this year has really been extremely ego affirming.

Or he may just not have wanted to give blood/urine/hair to a random unidentified guy knocking on the door until he confirmed his identity. Not saying he IS clean... but would it shock you if some random french newspaper sent a guy pretending to be a drug tester in order to get a story?

The rules state (correctly), that he must be in the presence of a anti-doping guy. That rule was broken. Obey by the rules or there will be consequences.

Someone is guilty:
1) Lance Amrstrong
OR
2) The AFLD guy.

Sure it is, But I didn't know you checked those people in the shower. Cell phones don't usually work well with water.

It's word against word. As isso said, it seems weird that they'd allow Armstrong to go out of sight when it clearly says in the rules that it's not allowed once the tester has showed up.

It's more than that, it's THE GUY'S SOLE JOB to not let the rider go out of sight until he can get a sample.

If Armstrong jumps behind a car, the guy quite literally has to report that for X seconds Armstrong was outside his view!

That the guy supposedly told armstrong he could go take a shower is quite literally an incredible claim.

Every single rider has been tested this many times to establish a longitudinal profile. All the riders who weren't around to be subjected to it last year are subject to the exact same this year.

There's one and only one person who can claim to be tested far more often than normal: Klöden.

Anyone know what you could do in 20 minutes to 'prepare' yourself for a drug test?

Or should I email the expert, JB?

Besides the saline injection? Not much that I know of.

EDIT: oh yes, an extremely popular method is taking a few aspirin to thin out your blood and "normalize" your values.

Heh. Each time Armstrong's test results on his website are updated, past results are "touched up". Usually haematocrit scores are lowered.

And it's happened again. They've "updated" his early february test results to show a haematocrit 2 points lower than originally listed...

If it is his sole job, than why didn't he follow him.
