The last stage was a three rounds circuit, up a mountain, and down the same mountain.
I got a big problem on this stage, it wasn't easy to be director of a professional cycling team, when the television and radio didn't work. Absolutely nothing of the technology worked, and the only thing I could give my commands after was grey pictures with the riders name in. this was going to be a though one!
The stage continued just like this, and Pliuschin tried as best as he could. Pliuschin lost his second place to Schleck, but could still hold on for third in the overall.
The newspaper couldn't get anything out of the stage too, probably it had been a very, very heavy fog?
A great race from Pliuschin, I'm very satisfied with his podium, but a second place would have been even nicer

A foggy success though with that 3rd in the overall
Pliuschin turned a hell of a rider it seems
Keep it up I'm eager for the Tour

I didn't do that alexkr, it was grey from the very beginning to the very end of the stage. It has happened before too, but then it had been been in minor races like Giro del Capo, and other 2.2 races.
Gustavovskiy: Pliuschin is a great rider yes but I'm having a dane that have been hurted for two months of this season, he is peaking for Vuelta, and going to ride the Tour to gain the 4th experience bar. Then I'm having a great nordic rider too |

Tour de Suisse is the last preparations for Valverde, except a 10 days where he is going to a X-rated place together with Fuentes, that is top secret
Hoppefully Vavlerde will show his strength here, he isn't up against the best field, so a podium overall is definately achieveable. We brought a squad where all participants are going to gain fitness for the Tour. I'm going to send Nordhaug to the Tour too, he has deserved it, brilliant riding in Paris-Roubaix.
The second stage is flat (simmed the first), until many hills at the end of the stage hopefully will decide the stage in Vavlerde's favour. Our team is not strong enough to do a job for Valverde close to the finish, but hopefully he is strong enough on is own.
Leon van Bon created the breakawaw with a smart move 100 kilometres away from the finish line. It become a big break, and we had no-one in it; big mistake by me
The break was very good-looking and it was going to make it to finish line, then Van Bon decided to attack once more, and that was a smart one. All the other breakawayriders were caught except him, that took the win! Valverde and Eltink powered their way away from the peloton, and they was just able to take Van Bon's backwheel and they gained useful time on the pack.
In their sprint for second, Valverde had nothing to sprint with, as he had done all the work to drag them up to Van Bon, but still, 3rd and 4 seconds to the peloton was more than acceptable.

After a long period where I have lost my motivation to play PCM AND write a story, I'm going to give this one one more go. I did also format my computer and saved the story on a memory stick. I haven't found the memory stick before this morning (big thanks to olabj who motivated me) Anyway, I'm back
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
We're off to stage 4 of Tour de Suisse. Valverde hopes to grab the overall-jersey, but still, he has to do it on his own as our team is not the best.
It's a stage that suits very well to Valverde, two climbs, where the last will be decisive. And then a flat run-in to the finish line where Valverde hopefully can use his good sprint.
We had quite a strong break today, Wegmann, from Gerolsteiner was the strongest in the break, but still, they won't make it.
Valverde got off with 4 kilometres to the top of the last climb, it seemed like no-one could follow him. He was very strong, flying the climb. But he figured that is was better to wait for someone, it could be a struggle to ride the flat part alone.
The someone turned out to be Siutsou from Wiesenhof. He was actually strong to, but I felt that Valverde was strongest.
And yes, Valverde took the win, easily outsprintin Siutsou. He also took the overall lead. A great day for the team that was pretty exausted at the end of the stage (look at the last picture).

The stats of Siutsou and Hagen will come after stage six of the TdS.
--------------------------------
Stage 5 was a very though stage. The riders are going over 3 big mountains, and only a strongman will win. Hopefully Valverde will be up there.
Martin Elmiger from Ag2r went for a suicide solobreak today. The only things he gained was some mountainpoints and TV-time.
It was his team mate Theo Eltink that started the action on the last climb. He wasn't the strongest, but the action had begun!
It was a surprising trio that was strongest. David Lopez from Wiesenhof, Mauricio Ortega from CSC and Sylvester Szmyd from Barloworld. It was annoying that Valverde couldn't keep up with them.
Valverde had a hard time, he couldn't keep up with Zubeldia, and this is on a dailyform of +1! Now it was all about limit the losses.
David Lopez took a fully deserved victory. He was the strongest, and outsprinted the two others.
Valverde crossed the line 2 minutes behind, meaning he had lost the jersey with 16 seconds.
Stage:
1 David López TEAM WIESENHOF FELT 4h56'39
2 Mauricio Ortega TEAM CSC s.t.
3 Sylvester Szmyd BARLOWORLD s.t.

A mountain timetrial represented stage 6. It was a time trial in Mortirolo.
Bernard Kohl did good, ending 6th, 1'35 behind the winner.
It was clear that the fight for the win was between Zubeldia and Valverde. Zubeldia rode very well, catching his 1'30man, Siutsou.
But Valverde rode even greater, taking the win by 8 seconds! Great win, he also took back the overall jersey.
Stage:
1 Alejandro Valverde TEAM MAXBO BIANCHI 45'32

Another tough stage. Stage 7 ended with a really hard one, Valverde will have to fight hard to win.
We got Lucas Haedo in the break. There were some strong riders there, Ballan was one of them.
But the break wouldn't make it as usual, and Valverde opened the show on the first steep part of the climb. He got green moment, so why not continue when the others stopped?
He got a good gap, but Zubeldia chased him down, and the two contenders for the overall was together, fighting for the victory.
Valverde managed to sit on his back wheel, but he had nothing left to sprint with, so Zubeldia deservedly took the win.
Stage:
1 Haimar Zubeldia DISCOVERY CHANNEL 3h53'07
2 Alejandro Valverde TEAM MAXBO BIANCHI s.t.
3 David López TEAM WIESENHOF FELT + 1'21
4 Domenico Pozzovivo CERAMICA PANARIA - NAVIGARE + 2'17
5 Vladimir Efimkin CAISSE D'EPARGNE s.t.
6 Mikel Astarloza EUSKALTEL - EUSKADI + 2'25
7 Denis Menchov TEAM ASTANA + 3'45
8 Bernhard Kohl TEAM CSC + 5'29
9 John-Lee Augustyn BARLOWORLD s.t.
10 Mauricio Ardila RABOBANK + 5'37
I simmed the two last stages, as I wanted to hurry up to the national championships. Valverde did well in the final two stages too, securing the overall victory, and he got himself a confidence-boost before the Tour.
Overall:
1 Alejandro Valverde TEAM MAXBO BIANCHI 31h47'36
2 Haimar Zubeldia DISCOVERY CHANNEL + 2'09
3 David López TEAM WIESENHOF FELT + 5'53
4 Denis Menchov TEAM ASTANA + 10'17

Here's the screenshots of Siutsou and Hagen. As you can see, Hagen is a world-class sprinter, and he's just a kid!
