President of the British cycling federation Brian Cookson has said that there's a British top team being established right now, and that the goal is to have it racing in the Tour in 2010.
Other news: There's a meeting today between all the important people of the cycling world. They will try to arrange a new way to organize cycling. |

Oh, the drama!
Brian Nygaard told TV2 that he had talked to Sastre who told he had never said those things. Bjarne, that poor thing, hasn't got a clue and doesn't get anything! But no, it's not over! Now, Cuesta has confirmed and repeated Sastre's exact words! Denmark vs. Spain all over again!
Never.

This is going to be nasty again..and must be also a little dissapointed because Riis decided long time ago that sastre will not get new season contract...ironic..after Sastre managed to win TdF this all made Riis decision even easyer. Riis is smart enough to understand ..this was one and only for Sastre..now it is time to start new project. For stupid guys like us he just told..well we dont have enough money to get sastre also for next season..I realy like to..but after TdF win ..we specialy wont have so much money |

Don't ask me why I'm reading the Sydney Morning Herald, I have no idea. But this article looked particularly hilarious, considering Philippe Amaury.. you know..happens to own a certain L'Equipe:

I wish I could find a better source, but I can only seem to find some Australian papers and some forum posts. Maybe if we had a rumor thread, this would go in it. |

Yes, I've read that rumour too. Lance wants to buy ASO It's so crazy that I can't help start laughing. But so was the rumour about his comeback, so ...
... I bet Aquarius will be thrilled at the prospect of Lance owning ASO. The best part is that allegedly Hein Verbruggen is in on it too!? Oh boy, a deadlier combination is hard to imagine |

Doping would still be there though. I doubt it'd be any better...

I'm surprised that no one mentioned this:
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Bettini and Rebellin will be on a new team called Team Telteck H2O. It will be announced during the World Championship. Francesco Frattini will be the manager of the team. |

Cordero's pretty much confirmed that the Vuelta will go back to its usual calendar spot starting in 2011.
YAY!!!
me rikey
EDIT: That would mean a Calendar that goes from this:
22nd-ish March - Milano-San Remo
1st half April - RVV+PaÃs Vasco+Gent-Wevelgem+Roubaix
2nd half April - Amstel + Fleche + Liége
10th-ish May to early June - Giro
to this:
22nd-ish march - Milano-San Remo
Rest of march - RVV+PaÃs Vasco+Gent-Wevelgem+Roubaix
Early April - Amstel + Fleche + Liége
Mid April - Early May - Vuelta
20th-ish May to 10th-ish June - Giro

That would be truly awesome. Sure, it would leave the cycling season after July a little empty, but other thant that, brilliant!

So, I wonder if the Worlds go back to early august.
So that means awesome fields contesting the Giro di Lombardia, since they have a very long time to recover before it.

longer off seasons are not good. I like the calendar as it is. Road season ends, track season starts.
But if the worlds are moved to early august then perhaps people may leave the tour early to prepare, much like they do with the vuelta now.

Maybe the Tour of America can change that. It will begin on September 5th, 2009 and then every time the Saturday closest to the September 11th.
