Lillehammer Grand Prix

Lillehammer - Lillehammer 132.0 km

i.imgur.com/9OiA8sL.jpg

The sky is very dark at the start in Lillehammer, it starts to rain quite hard about mid-stage. Ten riders took of in the first breakaway without anyone from Coloquick, this group was reeled in after some 30 km.

Soon a new breakaway was established, this time Noah was able to join all together 9 riders, but just as the first breakaway they never got too much of a distance, and was brought back with more than 20 km left.

The rain was pounding down on the peloton

i.imgur.com/ER0S4RQ.jpg

62 riders left in the first group as they starts the final hill climb, Rasmus Lund Pedersen and Frederik Wandahl the only Coloquick riders able to position thenself close to the front.

The duo was not able to respond to a push by Jesse Ewart from Team Sapura Cycling, cutting the spearhead in two.

The race was won by Robbie Hucker, Team Ukyo in front of Jesse Ewart, Team Sapura Cycling and Andreas Leknessund, Uno-X Norwegian Development Team

Best from Coloquick Rasmus Lund Pedersen 11th and Frederik Wandahl 13th.

Noah had been to Japan twice in his teen years to visit his grandmother and the rest of the Japanese family, also on a few charter trips, but somehow had not expected Germany to be as beautiful as this. The weather was perfect and having a cold beer while looking at where the river Mosel runs into the Rhine was amazing.

His coming team was located just 7 km for here on the other side of the river. Noah was having a beer with Christian Andersen, his coming manager Mr. Monreal and Lotto–Kern Haus sports director Mr. Felsing. Soon they would drive together to the team headquarters to finalize the contract.

Noah had some concerns about the likelihood of racing on the cobbles with this team, maybe he should have chosen Nederland, but he pushed it away to enjoy the moment, it was too late now anyway. All he had to do was decide the length of the contract.

I'll go for option 1, 2 years. Option 2 would be quick money, but I doubt he'll really stay there for 3 years, and paying a fee after 1 or 2 years wouldn't be great.

I'll go for option 1 as well.

Int. Raiffeisen Grand Prix Gratwein-Straßengel

Gratwein – Gratwein 173.3 km

i.imgur.com/Uz9WGGj.jpg

It is a very hard startlist especially Felbermayr - Simplon Wels & W52 - FC Porto coming with strong rider but also other teams with better climbers/punchers than Coloquick.

Three riders form todays breakaway strongest for this profile Tobias Knaup from Team Lotto - Kern Haus. The trio get about 3 minutes but was reeled in with almost 60 km left.

i.imgur.com/2ObhUyC.jpg

From here the selection happens from the back of the pack, riders dropping with every passage of the climb. ColoQuick’s Frederik Wandahl isolated in a favorite group of 16 riders passing the hill for the last time.

Wandahl stays with the leading group but was not able to challenge the many strong punchers, he finishes 12th.

The race was won by Colin Stüssi, Team Vorarlberg Santic in front of Stephan Rabitsch, Team Felbermayr - Simplon Wels and Edgar Pinto, W52 - FC Porto

Noah was called to the manager’s office

Christian Andersen: “Hi Noah, as you already know was not expecting for you to race anymore this season, you have done very well and I know that you need rest.
Sometimes bad things happen and Nicolai crashed in yesterday’s training, while Oliver as you know is completely unfit, as he has already stopped fitness training some weeks ago, expected to get an early winter break and peak early next season.

Hope you have always dreamed about a trip to Africa, after the race the group will have a few days staying in Yaoundé the capital of Cameroon. I think you will find it to be a nice way to say goodbye to us”

Noah: “Oh yes I surely would, so glad to get this opportunity” Noah smiles.

i.imgur.com/dXT86N2.jpg

Christian Andersen: We do not have a lot of expectation now we lost Nicolai, Sebastian will stand in as leader trying to do his best in the sprints, You and Aksel in a free role, maybe able to get into the KoM fight if everything turns out to our advantage. Sadly, we have not been able to find any sponsors willing to donate something, so only the prize money in this race.

You better start packing your sunglasses we are leaving tomorrow at 11 AM

Grand Prix Chantal Biya

Stage 1: Douala – Douala 92.5 km

i.imgur.com/1DsowSD.jpg

The stage is a short circuit race in Douala, the largest city in Cameroon. The route is mainly flat, but slightly undulated.

Aksel Skot-Hansen attempt to break free several time with no luck, the short stage making the peloton chase very hard, but eventually he joins forces with Ryan Jastrab from Wildlife Generation, together the catch Márcio Barbosa from Aviludo-Louletano, the sole stage leader at this point.

The explosive Ryan Jastrab though seemingly having great legs today, drop the others at the first intermediate sprint, they never get back.

Aksel Skot-Hansen and Ryan Jastrab, about to catch Márcio Barbosa

i.imgur.com/4V93n9P.jpg

As expected, a solo rider could not make it and Ryan Jastrab was reeled in with about 22 km left.

Coloquick set up a train with William Blume Levy positioning Johan Price-Pejtersen to open for Sebastian Kolze Changizi, as Noah was not needed in the train, he took the wheel of Sebastian trying to secure a result for himself.

Sebastian was not able to pass Johan who ended as best Coloquick rider as 3rd. Sebastian came 5th Noah 6th, may seem as if it was bad timing but actually Johan had splendid legs today and was simply faster.

The stage was won by Batuhan Özgür, Spor Toto Cycling Team in front of Jesse De Rooij, Bike Aid

Good start in Cameroon! Hopefully Noah can give the team a final present as he leaves. Curious to next season in Germany.

@MrUfo87: Thanks, I am also curious, especially what races they can get but also the transfers, honestly havent checked anything Smile

Grand Prix Chantal Biya

Stage 2: Yaoundé - Nanga Eboko 156.3 km

i.imgur.com/IgRGYx8.jpg

Noah does not feel very good today, maybe the tropical heat, anyway he will stay back to help Sebastian Kolze. William Blume Levy has better legs and in a series of attacks attempt to join the breakaway, but always with the pack quick to close him down.

As William has already burned some matches, he fell back to help the leader and instead Noah, although having a bad day, gets a gap. A duo of Renus Byiza Uhiriwe from Benediction - Ignite XL and Marek Čanecký, Dukla Banská Bystrica already got 2’38” a gap Noah has to close to get into the KoM fight.

After 27 km alone Noah joins the leading group and saving some energy not being to active in the breakaway. Noah comes 2nd at the KoM. The trio never got above 3 minutes. They were caught with 18 km left.

i.imgur.com/QUJ78A3.jpg

Johan Price-Pejtersen leads the train, in front of Andreas Brandt Aidel and Sebastian Kolze Changizi, both lead-out not the best sprinters, would normally be better with Noah in 2nd position but hopeless with those legs. Anyway although Andreas loses some positions as he opens the sprint, Sebastian is much faster today and comes third.

The stage was won by Onur Balkan from Salcano Sakarya in front of Ahmed Amine Galdoune, Sidi Ali Pro Cycling Team.

Noah was drained from the attacks and a hard crosswind (up to 30 km/h), but did not lose time.
