Rob Hayles is the new GB RR champ... guess no pro tour jersey next year... just some crappy womans team with 2 no-contract riders who got added on.

doddy and Smoothie; Hayles deserved it
I was there, watched all 9 laps. He was the strongest, by a long way, bar Millar. Hayles was the most consistent, it was a great ride from him.
Millar was unlucky, he got no help whatsoever. Although truth be told, for the first 6 laps he didn't do anything, just sat in the middle of the bunch. The last 3 laps however, he was consently on the front getting no help, or very little help whatsoever, for the last 3 laps when they passed us, Millar was on the front every time.
Cav's problem was that he doesn't have experience, he was on the front working hard on the 1st, 3rd, 4th laps. When the experienced guys like Hunt, Hammond, Millar, Lloyd, the Downings, etc. were all sitting pretty in the bunch.
Hammond looked very good, but I think it was all a front, he had his poker face on I think.
It was a great race though, it was never certain if the break would make it, it was up to 4mins at one point, then the next lap it was halfed to 2mins, then it was 1min and then it started to rain and the time stopped coming down.
At the end, Hayles deserved it
(I have lots of pictures )

Kurt-Alse Arvesen wins Norway Road Race.
Fabian Cancellara wins Switzerland Time Trial.

I actually searched. Using the search engine Paulinho does not show up in this thread so I assumed no one had said anything.
So, all in all, it's CT's fault...
Edit: I searched again and I found out why it didn't show the first time. I searched "Paulinho" but no one had said that he was the new TT champion.

that guy is in top form. he was brilliant at the Route du Sud.
anyway, a question for our Benelux friends: what's up with the dutch and belgian TT championships? some years they're not run, other years they're in september.
how is it this year?

He lapped half the field ops:
Nicholas Roche didn't chase because their both related,Deignan cramped,An-Post had a rider in the breakaway and Pezula sat up.
He took it with 3 minutes on the chasers!

Because Fabian Cancellara is World TT champ, does the guy that was second in the Swiss TT championships get to wear the jersey? |
