Actually Owen just made some bad decisions regarding his career .. He should have stayed in Liverpool like Gerrard..
And Allbäck isn't that good anymore .. With all respect to Allbäck he's just too old.. He plays in the danish league for FC Copenhagen (I'm fan of that team) but he can't score goals in Denmark.. If you can't do that then you simply haven't the level to play on top plan as the European Cup is ..
Allbäck was really good a couple of years ago but he's "over the hill" as you say.. |

Nope, the problem with Owen was that he was quick and agile. That was his cutting edge. He then decided to bulk up, to get more muscular, and he lost it

Well he also lost his goalinstinct somewhere ..
Don't know why he decided to bulk up ?
He didn't need that in spain .. |

Allbäck has a higher average of scoring goals per game then any other swede in the national team
Even better then Larsson during his best years |

Well I do have a huge amount of respect for Allbäck.. Just saying that he isn't that good anymore.. When did he score last time for Sweden ? He doesn't create many chances ..
Well his age is has something to do with it .. He's in the end of a great career ... |

All Owen has now is his experience and the ability to make runs off the ball. Although now he isn't quick and agile, his runs off the ball aren't as effective.
The season just finished, the top English goalscorers in the Premiership only:
12 - Jermaine Defoe
12 - Wayne Rooney
11 - Gabriel Agbonlahor
11 - Steven Gerrard
11 - Michael Owen
10 - Dean Ashton
10 - Dave Kitson
10 - Frank Lampard
9 - Gareth Barry
9 - Stewart Downing
8 - Jolean Lescott
8 - Ashley Young
The season just finished, goals in all competitions:
21 - Steven Gerrard
20 - Frank Lampard
18 - Wayne Rooney
16 - Jermaine Defoe
13 - Michael Owen
12 - Marlon King
11 - Peter Crouch
11 - Gabriel Agbonlahor
11 - Dean Ashton
10 - Stuart Downing
All the players below him are only a couple of goals behind him, yet are a lot younger than him. They deserve to get a chance in the first team more than him in my opinion. Even the guys scoring more than him are a lot younger. He's just not as good as he was 6 years ago.

Uhh are we talking about Football Manager 2008 ?
Luca Modric is just really good.. In January 2007 Dinamo ( His club ) turned down a bid on 30 million £ from AC milan for him ..
But he's gonna play for Tottenham next season

We need Collina to be refereeing. Seriously
In that Croatia - Austria game, I watched about 15 minutes, and the amount of diving was absolutely shocking. And it wasn't even good diving. An Austrian player just fell over forward, but because he picked up the ball with his hands, he was awarded a free kick because he was "pushed"
If Collina was out there, he'd have been booked instantly. He's done it twice now, so he'd be sent off
