I did back in my second try in the demo
but here's why yours don't work: Ramos hit Quaresma, who didn't fall, but he stumbled...so I told him to dive (you can't delay. must be immediate), and the referee gave a penalty. Portugal 1-0 Spain
it's hard because we're not used to it yet. for now a player gets hit and we hesitate and after a second go ".....wait! dive!" and by that time about a second has passed from the "foul" and our guy looks like Dida

Its certainly not the best. Its like one step forward, two steps back. I know it happens with every next-gen release (certainly with football games) but why do they have to strip loads of stuff from previous games? The PS2 had built up a healthy array of modes that could easily be translated over (e.g the world cup campaign, random selection matches) but they get dropped so the developers can reintroduce them as 'new features' in future games. Really annoys me. I know a lot of people are disappointed there isn't the world tour mode from PES 6.5 |

the PS2 version is lacking a heck of a lot of things that are in every other version. moves and dribbles for example. in contrast, it's the only version to feature the new revamped master league

that wasn't quite my point. its just the withdrawl of of features found in pes on any platform from one gen to the next, in particular. |

@addy: try evo-web.co.uk
just sign up and check the downloads area. Superpatch 0.6 is available! This fixes names, kits, logos and adds a few teams.

What has everybody been downloading for this?
I have just finished downloading the FKuyt Mix Patch thing which looks good, although they may have gone a touch wild with Ronaldo's stats
apart from that it looks like the best attempt so far, unless i've missed any.
this is the one i'm talking about

I'm using the same patch. it'll do until something awesome is released (which will take time. good things take time).
and Ronaldo's stats look spot on for the way he's been playing ever since he had removed the conjoined twin that was living in his belly.....either that or he was really really fat. anyway, the stats look good for what he's been doing recently (injury excluded). also, they're the same stats that the original PES came with

I didn't realise a better patch had come out (than superpatch 0.6), I'm going to download it as soon as my exams are over, the holidays have started and I get a PC controler that doesn't break every two weeks. By which point a better patch will have come out...Damn you Logitech, make a controller where the analogue sticks dont just crumble to bits! |

"better" is quite debatable. I find myself looking at half the "fixed" team lineups and reacting: "what the ****!!!????"
some of the best players are missing and others who never play are starting...for the national teams even

what the hell have you been doing with it?

hmmm...yeah the lineups are always a bit dodgy in early patches - I guess the main thing is sorting out the kits, badges and graphical stuff early on. Hopefully we won't be waiting too long for a good, reliable, and complete patch - one that doesn't have ridiculous line-ups.
About my controller - or both of them that I've had, as the first one got replaced - have broken because of a stupid design flaw. the logitech USB Rumble Game Pad's analogue sticks are basically hollow tubes from the spherical base, and the thumb pad plugs into the tube. Problem is the thumbpad kept popping out if you pushed the stick at the wrong angle because it wasn't glued in, and eventually the constant popping and replacing has lead to the thin tube that holds it cracking, and the crack spreads down around the ball. It happened to my first one after a week, I took it back and got another one...then its happened again after 4 weeks this time. And no, I do not excessively or brutishly shove the analogue stick about - I've never broken a pad before, and I've had most computer game machines since the master system. Its just a stupidly designed pad made with low grade materials.
Anyone know if its possible to somehow use a PS2 pad with the PC? Is there some USB adapter you can buy? |
