I just checked three Wikipedia Velo d'Or pages to see if the award was already given out by now. Froome has won it and I'm just asking myself what Valverde has to do more to get it one day.
On a serious note, not a big fan of Valv.Piti myself but he definitely deserved it last year. Kristoff or Degenstache 2nd. Froome.exe shouldnt be even close to winning it.
Tommeke not winning in 2012 is disgraceful too.
Froome obviously didn't deserve it, but he would probably have been the 3rd or 4th on my list considering he won Dauphine + 2 stages and TdF + 1 stage against the most fierce competition you will find in the stage races. He also beat Contador in Andalucia in some epic battles, but I bet that really mattered in the end anyways.
Valverde should obviously have won the price, I can't see how anyone in their right mind can disagree with that, but I don't have a big problem with Froome winning it.. the problem become when a rider like Nibali 2014 wins it
And what about a guy winning WC and fourth consecutive green jersey.
That Dauphine prologue is insane, should be a fun stage.
As others say, i dont like absence of long ITT, it was somewhat traditional for Dauphiné, now it is a race for a bit different type of rider than it used to be last few years.

Sagan can get 2th on my list behind Valverde. Just for a change
