On another note, I think cio93 can finally release the anger from last year's P-R, when Degenkolb got 2nd because "no one else wanted to win"
Or the anger from MSR 2012 which only didn't go to Dege because he missed a helper to close the gap after the Poggio, or the anger from MSR 2014 which he could've contested if not for a mechanical before the Cipressa.....
But yup, nothing can ever make me angry at anything regarding him again.
Ironically, he does it in the year in which, for the first time in 3 years, I didn't post in the pre-season prediction thread that I believe he can at least podium all of MSR, RVV and PR
Pleased for Degenkolb landing big after some rough luck along the way. He also proved my prediction correct - that's if you totally ignore the bits not in bold below made during Paris-Nice (and the 101 other predictions I've made that have totally failed to come true )

Not meant to be harsh as I suspect his chances of winning big this spring are actually greatly increased by what he's shown so far this year - great performance yesterday on a far from typical prologue course and emphatic on that Dubai ramp.
So turns out he can still sprint some too, especially after 300km in the rain

Sky and Bmc the aggressors. Thomas was very good he is having a great season.
Meanwhile though Paolini pulled up the toughman sprinters but left Krustoff in the wind too early. For me Kristoff could have won that had they tried some different cards.
However no begrudging Degenkolb win, feel he deserved it a nice rider for me and good to see a different sprinter win. Matthews and Sagan should be up there in future years.
One thing I feel from this is Cancellara is nit quite the force of old, this opens up cobbled classics quite well for me.
A solid SanRemo for me a bit disappointing in last 10 but still a hard race for sure.
Nice win for Degenkolb, but what a shame that crash was...Ciolek seemed to be in great shape, but he shouldn´t be fast enough at the end even if he wouldn´t have crashed...
what happened to Arredondo? did he also crash?
