It's most likely their hypocrisy that's being underlined here, not really the fact that they'd be cheating anyway. |

Well, i said cheating, because SKY valued that in that way and called for ban.

Yeah because I'm sure that every other team would choose not to use something which gives them a huge advantage because it is 'wrong'. |

To be fair at least some of the teams in MPCC are probably not using a range of things that could give them an advantage and certainly many stuck to a 'no needles' policy before it was illegal. Sometimes people will actually do things like this for the right reasons.
I must be in an optimistic mood today.

Australia looks like it could get a new classic and it wants to aim for WT classification, or at least HC:

I can't see Geelong being a particularly good area for a race in terms of being much more than a sprint finish (unless my memory of that area fails me) but it would certainly be a popular area and draw huge crowds.

This is just hilarious:

Riccardo Riccò has been accused of buying EPO and testosterone after being caught red handed with two dealers by Italian police in a car park in the Tuscan town of Livorno, according to reports in Italian media.
...
According to a report on the Il Tirreno website, Ricco was caught with another local professional on Tuesday afternoon after collecting a bag containing 30 doses of drugs in the car park of an out of town McDonalds, north of Livorno. The two dealers are from Livorno, with one working in a local hospital.
The NAS, the branch of police specialising in drugs and health and safety, said in a press conference that 30 doses of drugs were seized during the operation which began in the nearby town of Lucca, with a further 100 doses and large sum of cash discovered during a search of the two dealers' homes.

My God, Ricco is just absolutely amazing.
There's a fine line between "psychotherapist" and "psycho the rapist"

Can't be true, Ricco is simply being misunderstood again as there's plenty of good reasons for having those substances - heck, I even have both in my bathroom cabinet. He was going to break the Ventoux record clean, so it must be a conspiracy to stop him. |

Cycling is quite big in Geelong so crowds would be a given, you are correct that it would be a sprinters race for the most past as there are no real climbs in the area, using Moorabool street which they used in the WC as a curcuit might drop a couple of pure sprinters but I doubt it. Interesting date as it would fit right inbetween the TDU and the Sun Tour

I don't know if it's hilarious in the end.
Ricco's been on it since the youth categories. Now he's made it to the pros and was banned several times, still he can't keep his hands off the chemistry.
I'd rather pity him as I would of a drug addict. |

Yeah, it is rather sad, how long before his body will be found in a hotel bathroom?

That is pretty much what came into my head when I saw the story, he has a problem that isn't just trying to enhance performance. Kind of reminds me of how Pantani went so hope Ricco can get the help he obviously needs.

read a bit more about the orange cycling project from breukink, boogerd and van poppel..
I wonder how that will translate to in races...
Boogerd sends people in the attack at 35km (boogerd-style). Then Breukink asks the others if they have a deal (dutch champs style) and then Van Poppel asks the orange rider in the attack to drop back and help the leader (sastre/cervelo/pauwels style).
hmm |
