well, Spa is always great to sort who is good and who isn't.
the first sector, but especially the second sector. not nearly as much the third.
looking at the times, Raikkonen and Massa look dead even. but here's the catch: where the driver, not the car, is almost all that matters is the second sector. which is where Massa buried everyone.
so, my conclusion: Massa is at the moment the fastest driver on the grid.
further demonstration of the (widely acknowledged) fact that Spa sorts the great drivers from those who are "just" very good is Rosberg's stellar performance.
it's going to be tight between the two Ferraris for the win.
of course, this IS Spa. rain can come at any time when one minute before, no clouds were in sight. so who knows.

well, I'm about to watch the GP2 race at Spa. for anyone who wants to see awesome racing, instead of the boring F1 races, I'd reccomend GP2. especially at a track like Spa.
cheers

here we go!!!!!!!!!!
and almost immediatelly, Massa has brake trouble. that man's bad luck is unbelievable
the fact he's only a tenth slower despite having brake trouble means he's miles faster than anyone else normally.

I cannot get my head round it. Massa's brakes are obviously off. the front locks up all over the place, so there is no way he can trailbrake.
despite this, he can almost match Raikkonen. amazing. without the brake trouble he'd be walking this race with one leg tied behind his back...
to think the fact he didn't win is solely due to losing pole by 0.017 seconds... (which by the way was due to a lockup going into the bus-stop chicane, which was cause by....you guessed it....faulty brakes)

it's not that. the break pads on one side aren't cooling properly. meaning the breaking is extremely uneven.

Massa has caught up to Raikkonen pretty damn fast at the end, but has obviously been told by the team not to overtake, as that would be risky.
1.Raikkonen
2.Massa
3.Alonso
4.Hamilton
in two weeks' time, Japan

But isn't it illegal for the teams to decide that kind of things? |

Hamilton is leading. Alonso is 2 points behind. Raikkonen and Massa are about 20 points each behind.
