UK YOUTH: They attacked and chased early on!

[center]The 13 man break today: Bewley, Nys, Aranzazu, Holohan, Stamsnijder, Brammeier, Khalilov, Thomel, Dowsett, Zitta, De Negri, Krivtsov and Duval.

Would they stand a chance?

i855.photobucket.com/albums/ab115/riderrunrider/2_zps1124ed57.jpg

Chernetskiy
(Semen) was leading the white jersey competition a few days ago. He now finds himself 15'00 down in that competition and, judging by the fact he is always at the rear of the peloton, he may lose a lot more in the coming days.

i855.photobucket.com/albums/ab115/riderrunrider/3_zpsfd33fd2f.jpg

The Chasers Formula: Borussia Dortmund 60% / Nespresso 40%

The break were always well under control today.

i855.photobucket.com/albums/ab115/riderrunrider/4_zps6d9359ea.jpg

The Late Attackers.

With 25 kilometres to go and the break @ 1'00, four riders attack out of the peloton. The attackers: Vermote, Bodnar, O'Grady and Wyss. They soon catch the break and keep on going.

But the peloton is unrelenting. Everyone is back together with 10 km to go.

i855.photobucket.com/albums/ab115/riderrunrider/5_zpsd07a4ea6.jpg

155 riders crash!

After winning the TTT Bluebell Creameries were not the most popular amongst the other teams, after 7 km to go they are ...... vilified.

Impey crashes, his lead out man looks behind and then crashes himself causing a ginormous pile up. All this happens towards the head of the peloton and huge chaos ensues.

Only 43 riders are unscathed. Key names who are not dropped besides 80% of the sprinters: Serpa, Tschopp and the red jersey Szymd.

i855.photobucket.com/albums/ab115/riderrunrider/6_zpse329c1dd.jpg

As the downed riders recover the race is still on. O'Grady tries to attack again but there is no chance of even creating a gap to the sprinter teams.

2 trains form.
We have Pliuschin, Reihs and Feillu VS Sapa, Davis and Petacchi.

i855.photobucket.com/albums/ab115/riderrunrider/7_zps037919ed.jpg

Borussia make it to the front but Petacchi gets blocked in.

A great opportunity for many sprinters, who will go first?

i855.photobucket.com/albums/ab115/riderrunrider/8_zps52aa02a0.jpg

IT IS NAPOLITANO!

He goes for a long one, hoping to catch everyone off guard knowing surprise is his best chance of a win.

It doesn't pay off...

i855.photobucket.com/albums/ab115/riderrunrider/9_zpsf1667430.jpg

Modolo is the next to go .... and he looks good.

All the big name sprinters present are launching their final effort. Modolo is heading the race and looks unassailable ..... but he isn't!

i855.photobucket.com/albums/ab115/riderrunrider/10_zpsfee552e2.jpg

UK YOUTH are the 10th team to win a stage here!

Modolo had the luck today! He just holds off many faster sprinters for the win, he went at precisely the right moment. UK Youth had one of the weakest squads here so a stage win is massive for them.

Feillu, finished second and faster but couldn't capitalise on a great lead out. Hinault continues his rich vein of form with a podium finish. Bozic finishes, insanely quick , only 6th on the day. Petacchi .... disappoints again with his lead out man finishing higher, if Davis was sprinting for himself ........

i855.photobucket.com/albums/ab115/riderrunrider/11_zps4667c6f6.jpg

2'15 down comes a host of dropped riders led by van Hummel. De Weert, Paulinho and Lemoine are amongst the fallen today.

i855.photobucket.com/albums/ab115/riderrunrider/12_zpsa9cb18f9.jpg

10 stages down and we have winners from 10 different teams, INCREDIBLE!

T-Mobile lead the UC rankings at some distance ahead of Aer Lingus, ironically both teams are yet to win a stage!

The team protected him well today. Wink

The UC rider predictions may be axed after this stage, same old story of not enough people taking part ...........

Serpa not in Top 10. Oh why do you get my hopes with that crash and then.... crash them again bohooo. Angry I honestly thought he'd be like 5th or so in GC again.

Why did you take it down? This would've been the first id've known. Sad (Well, except for Keizer Wink)

Atlantius
Oh that wasn't long time we had to guess this time around Frown

Decent stage, though I'm not happy that Paulinho had another bad stage...

Second place is good from Feillu. But König and Pires... What r y doin'? Here, take some coffee and take back this lost time!

@ welker ---- You do realise you have won a stage with Impey (technically) and he did cause the massive crash just then, or did you miss/ skip all that? ................

@ Atlantius - You can't complain, you have had a ton of UC bonus points. Wink Yeah I will cut them out, for the next few stage at least, so we can get some stages done thick and fast. Wink Paulinho is around 10th atm but he may well rise in the rankings with the 49 km flat TT to come and that Danish cobbled stage.

@ Shonak - Nice to see you have resurrected the EVIL duxili persona from TOTC4.

Szmyd currently leads the three rankings but with the flat TT to come as well as that epic Danish cobble stage, you have to say hats off if he manages to hold the lead after those stages. Especially with 52 cob and 61 flat. Wink

MrUFo87 - Those Nespresso references are going to drive me mad ..... Wink But keep them coming, better to comment than to not. Speaking of which where are you jaxika, Marcovdw, tmr96 and knockout. Get your buts in the comments! Wink Smile

QUESTION: We have had 10 stages with a different team victorious on each occasion. Will this last another stage? If so, which team will win on stage 11?

I formally ask this stage to be cancelled.

The results are obviously not realistic Angry

I would also accept a replay

Hey, i comment after every second stage to say how dumb that italien "supersprinter" is...
But at least, two riders again in the top 10 .. Rolling Eyes

EDIT: I really liked that crash. Koren again in the top ten is a real nice thing which is propably even better as if i would have won the stage Wink
