Oh wow, great result for the team there Wink
Nice to see Holt finishing 4th in his debut race as well!

So close, sprint harder Johnnie!
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Shonak
Johnny and Simon with a real good performance here, next time it will be a double victory for Projob!

@Jesleyh: It was fantastic indeed
@Ollfardh: Harder than this? Sentjens just timed his attack perfectly.
@Shonak: Let's hope so

Our squad
Peter de Groote will once again be domestique. After doing well in Le Samyn he can do some relays here as well.
Jonas Ek will probably give it a try on the cobbles, or hold an extreme pace on the flat.
Kristian Hammarling will be our sprinter in case the groups remain together. With only a few cobbled sections this seems possible.
Fatbardh Haxhi will try to ride away his disappointments. He will be either lead-out for Kristian or even give it a go on himself.
Simon Holt will be mainly domestique. He might serve in a sprint train as well though.
Heiko Kalichmann will also be domestique. He might also try to go in the break though.
Khieu Tet Khamphan is another good rider for the cobbles. He might try a late attack.
Taeke Roorda is another domestique here. He will most likely do a share of protection.

With that startlitst we could do something special here. Wink

Ian Butler
Peter is up for some hard work here Smile

MrUfo87
Kalichmann's first race! Smile

Selwink
@The Rider: That would be very nice!
@Ian: Good to know, we'll certainly make use of it
@MrUfo87: His 2nd, actually. He also raced the Trofej Umag

Race report

Right from the start we have some attacks. This one of 4 seemed succesfull at the first glance, but it probably won't succeed.
i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0503_zpsf8ef6185.jpg

To make it even worse the rain starts coming out of the air and it isn't just a little bit. With 134kms to go, the break gives up. Now we don't have any more attacks for quite a while. We do eventually get a break though: Sorensen, Van Hoovels and Verkinderen.
i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0504_zpsc8ef3a4c.jpg

The pack now gives the break some space, until we reach the first Kemmelberg, where Peter takes charge for us.
i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0505_zps1cabddf1.jpg

Afterwards, the wind increases while the lead for the break decreases. At the second Kemmelberg, we and An Post put in a massive pace.
i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0506_zps98f71517.jpg

Unfortunately, no big split is made, or at least not with major riders. With 20kms to go, the lead for the break is just a minute and a mass sprint seems inevitable. Kristian is looking very strong today though. With 10kms to go, Commeyne attacks!
i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0507_zps0a155470.jpg

With 8kms to go, all is reeled in though.
i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0508_zps9e53387b.jpg

With 5kms to go, Commeyne has attacked again and now has a big lead.
i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0509_zps6e7f4472.jpg

With 1km to go, he has managed to hold his gap. The sprint for 2nd starts.
i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0510_zps5727e3c5.jpg

At the finish
i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0511_zps10a46282.jpg
He holds on! Commeyne wins the Kattekoers. Kristian comes 7th today.

Our squad
Björn Arvid will most likely be a domestique. He might give the break a try as well though.
Armin Berg-Hansen will probably have the same role as Björn, but nothing has been decided yet.
Johnnie Flodder will be our leader for today. As the parcours is fully flat, he as a sprinter should get a chance today.
Joep Gouda will be another domestique. He might try out the break as well.
Peter Pal will be an important rider for the sprint train. As he is very good on the flat, he could drag us along.
Timothy Raue will be another domestique for the day who might go into the break.
Ásgeirr Silferberg will be in the sprint train today. As a time trialist, he is strong for the flat.
Djaja Susanto will probably be the lead-out for Johnnie. If his weaker flat stat hurts, he might also be in the lead earlier on though.

Race report

We obviously have some early attacks. Silva, Nottebohm, Wren and Kohlvelter get a good gap.
i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0514_zps63a98611.jpg

The pack takes it very easy and the gap quickly grows over 5 minutes.
i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0515_zps82924aed.jpg

With 120kms to go the pack decides to accelerate. With 100kms to go, the gap is back to 5 minutes. With 50kms to go the gap is 2min40. With 38kms to go we have an attack though! Van der Haar gives it a go.
i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0516_zpse803eb08.jpg

In the break Silva punctures and he is reeled in by the pack.
i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0517_zps43bbbc2d.jpg

The pack keeps on accelerating and Van der Haar is reeled in with 25kms to go. The front 3 still have a minute though. With 12kms to go, the break is reeled in.
i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0518_zpsb58cd3c2.jpg

Just a little later Van Baarle attacks though. He doesn't get a chance
i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0519_zpsacfaac7c.jpg

With 1.5kms to go, Havik and Flodder set off.
i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0520_zpscfded8e8.jpg

With .5kms to go, Havik leads, but Flodder, Groenewegen and Caldeira are coming.

Good victory for Johnnie and the team. Good to see the team is competitive in the .2 races. Smile

Ollfardh
Awesome team work! Johnnie is really happy to win in Holland and buys all his team mates a bottle of cava.

Take that, Rabobank Development Team!
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

MrUfo87
Awesome! And I probably missed that one then. Embarassed

@Everyone: Thanks a lot! It's really motivating to see so many non-participants follow as well!

I won't post the next race -Nokere Koerse- today, due to Christmas. The same probably goes for tomorrow, as we get visit from family then.

Edit: apparently my 3000th postGrin

Well done Johnnie! Smile

Awesome win by Johnnie! And good to see Arvid riding his first race. Very grateful for the cava, and good thing that Fatbarth isn't here - he would drink that whole bottle on his own. Wink
