Races

As far as wastes of time go, this race was right up there. The only positive to come out of this race was the debut of, hopefully, our next big star, Damian Owniak on his home roads, but even local knowledge and fan support couldn't help him in to the top 20. The rest of the team was next to pointless, so here's a picture of Pinotti in the final time trial, where he briefly held the lead at the finish.

Hello fans and followers

I'm currently in Firenze participating in the World Championships, representing Poland in the U23 races and the Elite Races! Day 2 just finished with the yearly U23 Individual Time Trial and here I didn't come with great expectations, but I knew that a Top 15 was going to be the average guess and lesser would definitely be disapointing

U23 ITT

Me in the National Jersey, No time for Selfies!

16Damian OwniakPoland+ 3'22

Generally I was satisfied with my performance and the Time Trials are still not my favorite category and I don't see myself getting much better this time soon, but I know I could've done better and that I will need to work on my Recovery skill for both this and for the Grand Tours

Next up is the U23 Road Race and I've been told that I'm among the Top 10 favorites in the lineup and that the route tends to favor others better , I can definitely hold on!

U23 Road Race

Time for the Road Race!

i1291.photobucket.com/albums/b543/Sh0nak/Team%20NetApp%20-%20Endura/wc%20u23rr/2014-11-2316_13_33-Greenshot_zps730c9cc7.jpg

I was given yet another chance to be captain for the National Team and even though this race doesn't include a decent climb for my liking, then I would aim for a Top 10 anyway

i1291.photobucket.com/albums/b543/Sh0nak/Team%20NetApp%20-%20Endura/wc%20u23rr/2014-11-2316_56_48-Greenshot_zpsaa622a38.jpg

With Nowak in the break and my teammates dropping out I was to race on my own and since I've done this all my career I didn't have a problem with that, but I knew that I had to something unlike my usual moves in order to keep up with all those fast Puncheurs

i1291.photobucket.com/albums/b543/Sh0nak/Team%20NetApp%20-%20Endura/wc%20u23rr/2014-11-2317_09_26-Greenshot_zps905cf82c.jpg

So I tried to attack on the start of one of the final laps around this and I had used some time to get myself enquainted with the climb and how much pace I had to give in order to break away, but I lnew I was gonna waste my energy.

i1291.photobucket.com/albums/b543/Sh0nak/Team%20NetApp%20-%20Endura/wc%20u23rr/2014-11-2317_15_03-Greenshot_zpsd3723616.jpg

The break is getting caught now, I'm in a perfect position to get a good overview of my competitors

i1291.photobucket.com/albums/b543/Sh0nak/Team%20NetApp%20-%20Endura/wc%20u23rr/2014-11-2317_54_36-Greenshot_zps9e331858.jpg

It's getting tense! Nowak still has some spare energy to help me

i1291.photobucket.com/albums/b543/Sh0nak/Team%20NetApp%20-%20Endura/wc%20u23rr/2014-11-2317_21_23-Greenshot_zps885637eb.jpg

I've overdone my abilities in order to stick around and I must now face the consequences as I can't follow the others high pace

i1291.photobucket.com/albums/b543/Sh0nak/Team%20NetApp%20-%20Endura/wc%20u23rr/2014-11-2317_33_12-Greenshot_zpsa58a547d.jpg

On the next climb I stick to Po-ding, but it seems we've wasted too much energy!

i1291.photobucket.com/albums/b543/Sh0nak/Team%20NetApp%20-%20Endura/wc%20u23rr/2014-11-2317_52_13-Greenshot_zpsf638ff9b.jpg

And I come in at an 13th place, High pace is not my thing and the race evolved toward my weaker sides

My last Entry from Worlds

Hello, I hope you've enjoyed the Elite Road Race of the World Champioships 2013 in Firenze, I had an very important role today, even though I was only mentioned once in the official report, I spend a lot of energy in keeping the break at bay, which is something I've never done on this level.

i1291.photobucket.com/albums/b543/Sh0nak/Team%20NetApp%20-%20Endura/wc%20u23rr/2014-12-0614_14_22-Greenshot_zps77b3d676.jpg

Here with Contador by my side

I was kinda disappointed that I wasn't allowed to go into the break or at least do something for myself, but Kwiatkowski really needed a strong team by his side in order to win. I ended on a 68th place with the larger group

i1291.photobucket.com/albums/b543/Sh0nak/Team%20NetApp%20-%20Endura/wc%20u23rr/2014-12-0614_52_18-Greenshot_zpsf2a0e350.jpg

Kwiatkowski ends on the 5th place and I was considered useless in doing more than I had already done. I have just finished my 1st World Championship and I look forward to getting some training with my team and I promise I will do my best in improving over the winter, as there may be 3-4 months before my next race

Hey, my name is Adrien. This is my first post as a BMC rider having made the switch from Sky. My neo-pro season was a massive success racking up 9 wins, including a WT stage in Beijing. I finished 4th in the U23 WC RR and gathered a number of high GC placings. I was the first EPIC rider to wear a GT leaders jersey and most recently i beat Brouwer to claim the honor of Best EPIC Rider 2013 on the road.

BMC were very keen to sign me for my neo-pro season and now they've got me. Sky was too focused on the GC for me and often i was left without sprint support. BMC has some great flat riders and the management promised to try and add a couple more lead-out guys for me. I'm great friends with the manager and i look forward to removing the 11th place joke from the team.

Milan-San Remo will be my early season target once again after finishing in the Top10 in 2013. From there it will be Giro or Tour before hopefully going back to the UK around the Autumn classics. I will be constantly updating you of my progress across the season so stick around!

P.S. At some point i might get around to explaining the nickname...

Hello all!
Just wanted to stop by and say a few words about the Velo d'Or awards results which came out last weekend. My new manager was voted Best Manager of 2013 which is a big confidence boost heading into the new season. Hopefully he can make the right moves in the transfer market and bring us great new successes in 2014.

Personally i can draw a real final line under the 2013 season as i was voted Best EPIC Rider of 2013, beating out Brouwer to win the award. It's a great recognition from the EPIC community of my achievements last season. Hopefully i can have another good season for BMC and be in contention to win the award again next year. It will be harder but i'm for a challenge!

Gilbert tells you: I want full leadership in the Ardennes

Of course, that was never in doubt. We will be hoping for the win that just eluded us last year and have picked out one or two riders to strengthen your support and hopefully we will be able to get them.

Phinney tells you: I want leadership in Eneco Tour

That is definitely something we were already considering after your fantastic performance in the Driedaagse this season. The Eneco route next season is a bit harder than this year but with an ITT and lots of potential for crosswinds on the first few stages, you have great chances to gain time before the hills. And with the team's support, you should be able to get a result.

Van Garderen tell you: I want to lead the team in le Tour de France

Whilst the route may not entirely suit you, we don't really have many other options, so if you wish to ride Le Tour, we will support you as best as possible. We know that Damian wants to help you next season and we will be able to provide you with two or three other guys in the mountains.

Hello Mr. Manager,
With the transfer season coming up i'd like to see you trying to add another rider or two from the UK to help out myself and Blythe in sprinting. Fenn is rumored to be up for sale and could be another nice lead-out option. Otherwise the improvements Taylor is making, combined with the experiences of Hushovd make for a great train. Thor might not be Eisel but working together in the off-season we're going in the right direction to challenge for more wins.

Seeing Tejay wants to target the Tour i would prefer either the Giro again or the Vuelta as a GT. Neither are great Points Jersey targets because of how the competitions are structured but targeting stage wins is possible. We'll talk more nearer the season start and i trust your judgement in the draft an transfers.

"The Best way to Owniak" | Roster Rotations #1

Hello

With the words from Adrien, I would like to note that, no matter how much I would appreciate it, I won't need any polish teammates to make me satisfied. I have been a little premature before watching the 2014 route of the Tour de France and I'm sad to inform to the management, that I have other priorities due to this.

I'm not the most versatile rider in the world and Tour de France is still a little to big for me to compete in, so my goal for next season will be to help Tejaj in the Stage races like Romandie and Paris - Nice. On the other hand I expect to be up for leadership in races like Pologne and Österreich, while my GT of choice is still up for discussion.

The Vuelta would be the main choice, as I've improved my climbing by far and I should be up for the Top 20 there. The drawback is that the Vuelta also may be too hard for me and that will favour the Giro, as the climbs are smoother and better of my liking. I don't expect leadership in any way in the GT's, but a Lieutenant role is my main objective for the 2014 season.

Thanks boys, nice to see you both excited for next season already.

The next few weeks are probably going to be confusing and frustrating for me as we have already picked out a few targets but until the market opens, we have no idea whether we'll be able to get any of them. We are certainly looking at a sprinter or two Adrien but we'll have to see how that goes.

As for the schedule choices, it's a little bit early for that but you will, of course, both be doing a GT. We are naturally disappointed that you don't want to ride Le Tour as we had already informed Tejay of our plan and now we have to come up with another idea.

Everything will be decided once our squad is finalised.
