Very nice race and great win for De Jongh and nice 3rd for Goss. I'm just dissapointed I haven't seen anything to Breschel these two days.

The Walloon season-opener GP ''Le Samyn'' took place today near Valenciennes. Guess who won?

Gilbert is once again guaranteeing he'll be very far past top form for the april classics.
Sad, really. I don't usually support any riders but I'd love for him to win one of the bigger ones. won't happen this year, it seems

I can't see him winning in Liège anyway, and hardly RVV either. AGR maybe.
Actually I think he's one of the best punchers on 200 km races, but can hardly be efficient on longer ones. Maybe when he'll get older or when the main opponents will ride cleaner... Milan - San Remo is particular here, although it's almost 300 km long, the first half can almost be discounted.
With some luck you never know though... But if I were Gilbert and knew I'm "too short" for longest races, maybe I'd peak earlier and win second range classics rather than riding for a top-10 there and another top-10 in Spring classics. |

Alejandro Valverde won today's time trial in the Alto de Aledo, 2 seconds faster than Garzelli and 6 ahead of Contador. Unless there's a strong attack from one of those two contenders, Alejandro's set to win the race tomorrow. |
