Three stage wins for OGE; Gerrans, TTT and the bus.

Shrek losing lots of time for a short TTT.
It was eleven more than necessary.

The team has a lot of track cyclists and has largely been built from the Australian track program. While that isn't where most of the riders here have come from, it does mean that the team structure puts a lot of effort into riding in formation and into the TTT discipline. Strength as a TTist doesn't mean as much as it does in PCM, it is alll about team cohesion (which is why Garmin are brilliant at this discipline usually).
Exactly. Notice how all the teams with great leadout trains also did well today. |

Well, I don't want to defend Argos' horrible time today too much, but they didn't want to go for it anyway, they just wanted to finish in the time-limit, and finish the TTT with a good feeling, yet saving a bit energy(That's hard, but I guess he means not giving 100% but 90%) for the upcoming days. At least their DS said that in an interview on the Dutch television.

Anyone just witness the ITV commentator saying that OGE looked like a 'bunch of convicts' whilst celebrating? Lifted my mood slightly
His job is surely at risk though... |

Millar stated he was on a bad day but that Garmin rode well (for what it's worth).

So biggest GC losers today? (my loose, vague interpretation):
Fuglsang +56
Rolland +1:13
Navarro +1:20
Froome and Contador happiest of all with solid times and no yellow to defend.
Probably Valverde would've taken that before today too at just +16. |
