Movistar!
Valverde wins the stage and Quintana now wears white!
Only bad thing about the stage is that Intxausti lost almost 7 minutes

Stage 8
Today we probably have the first important stage for the general. The stage is an individual time trial, with a length of about 55kms. The race is quite hilly, but the specialists will be aiming to win this stage, while the worse time trialists will have to limit their losses and regain time in the mountains.

Stage wins, being in breaks, betting correct, he bet 13 points on Sky in the TTT, and Ferrari won etc.

Gabicce Mare - Saltara (ITT)
Hello and welcome to the first real important stage in the fight for pink. Today we have a long and difficult ITT, which should set clear differences.
With no75 in the GC to start, the current fastest rider is Ion Izagirre, with a time of 1h35.43.
A bit later, Larsson beats him with a 1h34.44.
Former world champion Cancellara is off now.
The second important rider to start is world champion Tony Martin.
He is followed by sir Bradley Wiggins.
A bit further up, we have a new best time. The rider is Alexander Kristoff, with a time of 1h33.26
So far, Cadel Evans has been disappointing. Lets see what he can do today
Cancellara is not having a very good Giro so far. At the first time check, he loses 20 seconds to Kristoff.
Next of the prominents is Tejay van Garderen. He was in white when he crashed and is going for revenge.
Tony Martin is better than everyone so far, taking 9 seconds off Kristoffs time at time check 1.
Wiggins has a real bad giro so far, and at this time check, he even loses 1min19.
Currently 31st in the GC, Vincenzo Nibali sets off to get a good GC.
Evans loses 31 seconds to Martin at time check 1
Cancellara closes in on Kristoff, currently being 17 seconds down.
At the finish line, Spartacus has taken just 1 second off, making him the current 3rd.
At time check 2, Martin has increased his lead to a whopping 1min17.
Tejay had already set the 4th time at check 1, 28 seconds lost.
We now reach the top20, with the first rider Nocentini.
We have a new leader. Martin reached the finish line in a 1h31.58, 1min28 quicker than Kristoff.
Wiggo cant do well this Giro, losing 3min09 on the line.
Here is THE favorite for the GC to start: Alberto Contador.
At time check 2, Evans is 4th, losing 1min30.
The top10 is going as well now. First off is last years winner Hesjedal.
Next is the no3 and winner of stage 20 of last year: Thomas de Gendt.
Nibali has passed time check one with a loss of 32 seconds.
Next to start is Robert Gesink.
Next is Luis Leon Sanchez, the 2nd of Blanco in a sequence of 3.
Last in this sequence is Bauke Mollema.
Evans hasnt lost time on the final climb, making him 3rd.
His teammate Van Garderen sets a 3rd time on the second time check.
First of the top5 to start is Alejandro Valverde.
Next up is Sergio Henao.
Cataldo is the next to start.
Next is no2 of last years Tour de France and current no2 in the GC: Chris Froome.
The obviously last to start is Maglia Rosa Gilbert.
At the finish line, Van Garderen is 2nd, 1min25 behind.
At time check 1, Alberto Contador takes 22 seconds off the time of Martin.
Hesjedal loses just 9 seconds.
Nibali meanwhile has reached check 2. He loses 1min48 there.
Back to time check 1, where De Gendt is 3rd losing 14 seconds.
Gesink loses 24 seconds.
Luis Leon Sanchez takes another 6 seconds off Contadors time.
Mollema looks quite strong at the first check, losing 29 seconds.
Valverde loses 31 seconds at time check 1.
Nibali meanwhile has lost 1min59 at the finish line and it looks like he has a lot of work to do in the mountains.
Henao loses 49 seconds at check 1.
Cataldo does better, losing 33 seconds.
Chris Froome takes a 31second lead at time check 1!
Gilbert loses 1min10 at this check..
Results at check2:
1. Christopher Froome
2. Alberto Contador @1min05
3. Luis Leon Sanchez @1min10
4. Tony Martin @1min28
5. Ryder Hesjedal @1min41
6. Thomas de Gendt @1min51
7. Robert Gesink @2min16
8. Michele Scarponi @2min18
9. Bauke Mollema @2min24
10. Dario Cataldo @2min33
At the finish line, Contador takes the lead with a 1h31.40
Hesjedal loses 37 seconds to Contador.
De Gendt loses 49 seconds to Contador.
Gesink limits his loss at the finish to Contador to 1min15.
Luis Leon Sanchez loses just 6 seconds on the line.
Mollema did fairly well, losing 1min23 to Contador.
Valverde loses 1min37 to Contador today.
Henao loses 2min24 to Contador
Christopher Froome has overtaken Cataldo. He sets the new time to beat at 1h30.34, 1min05 faster than Contador.
Cataldo loses 2min41 to his leader.
Gilbert loses 3min19, meaning Froome takes over pink.
In the GC, Froome holds a 1min20 lead to Contador and 1min21 to Luis Leon Sanchez. Quintana holds white, but Van Garderen is closing in. Sky is the best team, 2 seconds ahead of Blanco.

Stage 9
Today we have the final stage before the rest day. This is not the first stage that looks very suitable to attackers. This stage is also ideal for a puncher who can climb a bit. Once again, we shall see an interesting battle, but probably not for pink.

I would have gone for stage wins if I were manager of Androni anyway, but what were your expectations of Pellizotti?

Don't know how far Samu is behind in the GC, but losing over 4 minutes in the TT isn't really helping |

@fcancellara: Nah, tomorrow is more like stage 7, so only boni
@mvhoogdalem: If he can do a Landis-like attack, everything is possible
@Ollfardh: His terrain is yet to come
SS2JLuigi: Luckily for you, 5 Sky riders have to work, while there are 0 Blancos that have to work
@TMM: The mountains, where Contador is better, are coming up. Still, he is looking good
