Nice season, Cunego!
I notice everyone playing with Sky sends Froome to Giro |

Here's my Vacansoleil squad on January 1st 2014 (2 years in, PCMDaily2012V1 DB).
Nibali was without a contract this year, and I was looking for a GT leader, so I decided to get him. I could have also gone for Vandenbroeck, but I had enough budget left to get Nibali. Nuyens joined last year and rode the classics together with Leukemans. Leukemans was declining at the end of 2013 so his contract didn't get renewed, leaving Nuyens to replace Leukemans completely. Unfortunately, Nuyens will also turn 34 this year, so I probably won't give him another contract, unless I can get him cheap. Bakelants was a cheap purchase from RNT, and he's looking to become the next Gilbert! 80 Hills and 2 starts left, 79 in Endurance and 3 stars left. Renshaw was a cheap purchase last year. He'll probably get sacked when his contract ends in 2015. Dumoulin is like Bakelants: hired for 2.000 and still 3 stars left in his 79TT!
Either way, playing on Normal I've got some mean goals this year: Win the Giro, AND top 3 Tour, AND top 5 Vuelta! I seriously have no idea how to achieve this... The Tour has always been my Achilles heel... best result is 11th with Ruijgh last year. I will need to use Nibali for that, but that leaves me little options to win the Giro with. Ruijgh will have to do this... hopefully there won't be a long ITT. Any suggestions for a season plan would be welcome!
Also, I changed co-sponsor and my team is now Vacansoleil-Dexia. I'm pleased with the new co-sponsor for several reasons:
-Also a Belgian sponsor
-Slightly bigger budget
-Same areas of interest, just not Poland anymore
-same company colours (sort of) as Vacansoleil.
I still see my old Jersey and Logo though whenever I check in-game. I have no experience changing this in the folders, and I never designed a new jersey. Could you guys give me some advice?
Cheers. |

I think you can do both the Giro and the Tour with Nibbles. On normal, that should be possible. One-week-peak in the Giro, two-week-peak in the Tour, and both of your goals are possible. Also, Top 5 with Ruijgh should be achievable. 81 mountains is great and if you plan you season well, his form should be a lot better than anyone else's. It depends a bit on the amount of TT kms, but I think he should be able to do it.
Oh, and lastly: After all, the sponsor goals and the sponsor satisfaction don't matter at all, since you can't renew with them and the budgets won't change. So if you don't like the goals or think they're unrealistic, just go with your own goal.

The jersey and logo only change when the main sponsor changes. It would be almost impossible to create a shirt for every possible main-secondary-sponsor-combination. But if you're really annoyed by that, you could try to find a jersey maker in the graphics section who might do a jersey for you.

After a long time away from all things PCM (well the game at least) I'm back playing through April 2012 in my PCM 2012 database game with Sky on hard.
Currently towards the end of Al Pais Vasco after some depressingly realistic podiums with Flecha in the classics - best showing being a 2nd in Ronde van Vlaanderen with only Paris-Roubaix to come. Uran and EBH are waltzing away with the white jersey in APV with little in the way of competition but this was mainly to get everyone in shape for P-R so nothing too exciting...or so I thought.
Just had a nice win in the main mountain stage with Thomas. He went in an early break and got a decent gap with 2 other weaker climbers, all +10 mins down on GC. A few decent climbers tried to bridge but I chased them down on the flat before the mountains started in earnest. So that left the 3 up front until Hondo somehow crashed out of the break leaving just 2. Deployed Thomas with a relay of 60 to try to build up a big gap with it peaking at 15 mins until BMC started chasing and the main GC riders started to attack. Soon after Thomas rode away on his own as the gap tumbled in the last 25km. Still had a nice cushion going up the final climb but Vino and Evans were closing fast so had to stick his effort up for the final few kms to be sure. Ended up taking the win by 2 mins and securing the mountain jersery for Thomas, retianing white and taking the lead in the team classification to boot.
Have a feeling P-R won't go so well... |

Like buses next stage at Al Pais Vasco got a breakaway stage win with Flecha in a big breakaway (well 11 riders) sprint
Drove pretty hard on some hilly and flat bits in the last 15km but the break all came back together so wasn't holding out much hope but his near max fitness and everyone else struggling to make it back seems to have done the trick.
Just fell short of the stage win in the final hilly TT, losing by a few seconds to Vino with EBH. However, ended up with top 10 for Uran, mountains jersey for Thomas, White for Uran and won the team classification.
On to the real deal of Paris-Roubaix...

...and unfortunately far too realistic result of 4th with Flecha at P-R. Four up sprint with Hushovd, Cancellara and Boonen was never going to be easy but Flecha was pretty fresh so I looked to open things up but as he dived through on the inside Hushovd jumped and blocked him to add insult to injury.
Only 5th and 6th's in the Ardennes as Gilbert crushed everyone then on to Romandie...
...where Uran opened things up nicely with a surprisingly competetive prologue followed by a very good win by 40 seconds on the first road stage to lead by the same margin on the likes of Evans, Sagan and Tony Martin.
Henao kept the pace up and chased down some late attacks alongside a couple of Vacansoleil around 30km to go with Lofkvist doing a nice job of protecting Uran up to the last catagorised climb at 14km to go. Uran countered a short Alabasini attack here then pushed on on the climb to lead by 30 secs over the top. Then put him on the attack again with 8km to go on the last little bump to lose Albasini and dotted him home ahead of Evans et al.
Wins on hard difficulty certainly feel satisfying just want some in the classics too

Glad to say my next stage of Romandie drew no parallels with Cav's 5th place performance in the TdF today as he hopped from Farrar (who is performing in game as reality) to Petacchi to Sagan and then past in the closing stages for a nice win on quite a hilly (even a little mountain stat) course before the flat run in.
Just about managed to keep it all together by chasing on the flat and sitting up on the climbs although Spilak nearly made it away, having over 6 minutes with only 25km of flat left but a flat out chase caught him as he suffered for his earlier efforts on the climbs. |

So Romandie just finished in perplexing fashion. Finished in the top couple of riders with Uran in a hill finish then mountain stage/descent finish but lost time to Evans in both.
Going into the final mountain time trial I am a minute down on him and just thinking of consolidating 2nd. Not quite sure what happened - bugged AI??? Fitness really important on a mountain TT??? - but ended up winning the TT with Uran, finishing 2nd with Lofkvist and taking the GC by just 3 seconds as Evans finished just over a minute down to Uran.
Never in doubt

Just won back to back Fleche Wallone & Liege Bastogne Liege with Eros Capecchi. Wasn't expecting any results since Basso/Sagan/Nibali were not racing. Both from over 180km out. |

JUst finished my 1st season with Argos. Promoted to the WT and Kittel refused to resign .
Also Ji and Sinkeldam left me but I managed to get Kelderman, Kruijswijk, Demare and Bobridge in return
Failed hard in TDU and TdSL where Astana was riding with Kiserlovski, A. Schleck, Tiralongo and a whole bunch of top riders.
Menchov declined alot...

Am up to the start of March in my first career mode season on easy with Rabobank. In February won Rider of the Month with Luis Leon Sanchez. Won G.C in Vuelta ciclista a Mallorca, Vuelta ciclista a Andalucia, the Tour of Qatar and the Giro della Calabria. I have also won many Mountain, Points, Young Rider and Team Classifications. So far have won 16 races and got 9 2nds and eight 3rds. Am about to start the Paris-Nice and Tirreno Adriatico. My only problem is that I have two 3 stage tours that end the day the Paris-Nice starts and have ended up sending quite weak teams so I can have two strong teams for the Paris-Nice and the Tirreno-Adriatico. So I hope I can win some stages and Get top 5 G.C placings.
Go Luis Leon Sanchez, Robert Gesink and Oscar Freire.

It sounds like you should be playing on normal, otherwise you are just going to wipe the floor with the AI.

You must have changed the team a lot because you stole your best competition in taking Nibali and Robert Gesink. Otherwise those are some nice results.
