Jsut came in. What happend ? Was it one big crash or many smaller ones ?
Flecha FTW
Big crash, with Vinokourov and Van den Broeck involved, abandoning. Klöden was also involved but returned to the main bunch. Zabriskie and Willems also retired.
I am watching the Tour since 1997 and this is still the worst Tour.
Of course there were other bad Tours, but never with half of the favourites abandoned due to injuries before the first mountain.
I think the worst tour I saw was the '09 tour. This one has it's merits, but it is showing the increased pressure that the riders and mostly team leaders are experiencing from management and sponsors about getting results. They're so afraid of losing even one second that they are taking unnecessary risks at bad times with unfortunate consequences.
Maybe bad Tour so far, but i still think its going to be great in the mountains. 08/09 was the wors Tour(s) i have seen, i think this one is better so far.
It's not the question if the tour is bad because it's boring, but the amount of riders crashing out is unprecedented. And whether it's because of the roads they take, or the way they ride I don't know. But Cav said there's some right muppets in the peloton so I believe it's at least partly the riders themselves that are the problem.
I think it's still a pretty interesting tour, but it would be more fun if the gc men stopped crashing out.

Wiggins, the morning he crashed gave an interview to Eurosport and he said "Well, I need to be near the front, there are good riders in the peloton, but lets face it, some of the guys don't know how to ride a bike"

Taaramäe was also talking about it..some guys just dont know when to slow down and stop pushing. And added later ..that there is lot normal riders also..and he is happy to let them thrue when needed.
LL Sanchez didn't take one single turn in front of the break in 20kms
And Flecha takes 1 out of 4 of his... Are they so afraid of Voeckler?
Really disappointed by them >.<

Gesink is doing pretty bad.
He already had problems on the very first cat3 mountain. Don`t think he will finish the Tour.
He was bad at the fast start. But at the moment he is doing fine in the peloton.
Could be that he loses another minute in the final. But he will get to the restday,
I wonder if he gets better after that or not. If not, he'll abandon for sure. Rest for a few days, and go on altitude training for vuelta
