Taaramäe seems to be riding again..breathing problems and allergies are hopefully behind now...
Actually no. Probably the rain is helping and he's on strong allergy medicines but yesterday they only helped his breathing problems not his blocked nose. He was supposed to get some strong nose spray for today.
at least time is much better today..as he was in prologue and at first climb.
Baah and he beats Vino today. Lets wait and see what he writes on he's blog today.
9th time is definatly success

Nah, Mentos.
Anyway, very surprised about Rui's performance. Maybe he has a good chance to get a spot in the Tour squad. |

That's a very nice ride by Wiggins
And now the comment I post every year about anyone who does really well at either the Dauphiné or the TdS
He may well have peaked too early

Actually somebody from Sky's staff commented in February on their blog to let Wiggins peak for Dauphine/ Suisse and then and let him have a chance of win something big. And come to the Tour as helper for Uran. Uran was training in Columbia for over month now and said he targets White and Top 10 at the Tour. If he plays right I think he stands a chance for white. Don't look at others just keep looking at Gesink and follow him everywhere.
Anyway today was brilliant from Sky I have to say. Just shame Hagen got that mechanical yesterday, he was looking well. And f that Hagen from coming back from injury, I can't wait for his Tour form. |

You can't make this statement until this race has finished. Because he always performs good in time trials, even if he isn't in his best shape.
2011 time trial results
Bayern-Rundfahrt, Stage 4 : Friedberg - Friedberg I.T.T. 1.
Tour de Romandie, Stage 4 : Aubonne - Signal-de-Bougy I.T.T. 4.
Critérium International, Stage 3 : Porto-Vecchio I.T.T. 2.
Paris - Nice, Stage 6 : Rognes - Aix-en-Provence I.T.T. 2.
If we will see him in yellow jersey after Sundays stage, then you can make this statement. Because he only climbs well then, when he is in his best shape.

Add to that as well Paris-Nice Time Trial. He was seconds behind Martin and 3rd Overall.
Now checking the results, Uran got Top 20. Happy he is improving his TT at Sky. Looking well for the Tour TTT.
EBH would've had a 2 minute lead on the white jersey and a 2nd place overall if he didn't puncture yesterday...but then again, that might be a good thing, as he now hopefully won't be tempted to use too much energy in the mountain stages which wouldn't be wise considering TDF.

A good time-trial by Rui Costa, nice to see him in the top 5 of the GC.
Also, Wiggins very good, but i have a feeling he is nearing his peak form very soon. |

Today LLS was at least faster than Purito. A little improvement from his side.

Note that, personally, if I were Wiggins, between going deep for the win at the Dauphiné and saving for the Tour, it would be a no brainer. Winning the Dauphiné is on another level to anything he can achieve at the Tour.
Sure, he's almost certainly not going to be anywhere near as bad as he was last year at the Tour, but still, in the position he finds himself in, the Dauphiné has to take priority.
Anyway, during the weekend we'll know where he stands. If he has the form to win the Dauphiné he has no chance to do well at the Tour (in the past 30 years only Induráin, Armstrong and Hinault have managed to win the Dauphiné and do even reasonably well at the Tour), but if I were his fan I'd hope he wins the Dauphiné. It's a big win. Who cares about a top 5 or top 10 at the Tour when you can win the Dauphiné!

Exactly. I hope he gives it everything here, and take this opportunity if he can.
Unlike last year, where he could have taken a decent performance in the Giro GC (read: Top 10), if he hadnt decided to sit up on the Zoncolan stage to save himself for the Tour, where he duly did nothing anyway.

Taaramäe about TT and suffering:
What can I say to you ... 9. place, very good! I am extremely pleased and I got a good test - after all, this was also tour route.
TT Start is still obscene war of nerves, every second to remind yourself to keep the head down, focus should be seriously detrimentally affected, and, at all times be borne in mind that the more pain then better. For example : the last 15km leg muscle cramps, and the left thigh muscular cramping, you just have to ignore the pain.
After each TT and also today I am very tired now. After the finish line at all times I need to 3 minutes to sit on sidewalk. Timetrials is still horribly disgusting!
