Our first goal race of the season, Critérium International. We need a stage win there to achieve our goal.
After that I will post the monthly summary from March.

26.03.2011 - 28.03.2011: Critérium International
Criterium International is a French three-day stage race. Since 2010 it has been held on Corsica. The race has become more and more popular amongst the big names and is now a prestigious race to win. The race is also very famous for the incident when a horse jumped over it's fence and joined the peloton during the race. Record winners are Raymond Poulidor, Emile Idée and most recently, Jens Voigt, all with five wins. In 2011, the race was won by the elder Schleck after soloing up Col de l'Ospedale on stage 1. The same climb is used again this year, giving the climbers a good chance of overall victory.
Colombia squad:
Ardila is of course our leader, as he is by far the strongest climber in our lineup. We really hope he will do well here. A stage win would be great since our sponsors are expecting it. He's got a good chance to do that, as stage 1 fits him very well.
Peña will be Ardila's main helper and right hand on the climbs. He will also take his own chances if possible, since the TT on stage 3 can result in a good result overall for him.
Forero is our second hope for a stage win out of this race. With Nishitani as leadout man we think his chances are quite good. Forero probably has an even bigger chance than Ardila to get a stage win. We are really hoping for him.
Nishitani will as said be Forero's leadout man on stage 2. On the hard stage 1 he will act as a helper to our leaders, protecting them and carrying their bottles.
Chalapud, Pérez, Suárez and MartÃnez will all be loyal helpers to our main riders. We will also be sending one of them into the breakaway on the road stages.

**** Nibali, Wiggins
*** Gesink, Fuglsang, Coppel
** Karpets, Porte, Ardila Cano, Soler
* Löfkvist, Mollema, Vogondy, Peña, Sicard
Quite many big names on the start line here. Leipheimer will go as the big favourite, because of his climbing-TT combo. Nibali, Wiggins and Gesink will probably be his main rivals, also because of their climbing skills. However, we can't be sure of how they'll do, since their shape might not be the best at the moment.

I am sure you will make a top-10 in the GC, but a stage win will be hard. It depends on Forero and Ardila's shape. Anyway, good luck!

Thank you, my Swedish friend!
A stage win will definitely be a challenge, but I think we can do it. Ardila has ~85 fitness points and Forero ~95, so Forero is our biggest hope.
Report from stage one coming up soonish.

26.03.2011: Critérium International
Stage 1
Porto-Vecchio - Col de l'Ospedale
The opening stage is also the hardest stage in this race. Four categorised climbs plus the final HC climb up to the finish line on top of Col de l'Ospedale. We will definitely see some action on the final climb, because this is the only chance for the climbers with weak timetrial skills. Let's bring it on!
It felt like the Tour de France at the start. I guess ASO mixed up the races. At least the weather was good.
A big breakaway group formed today, including one of our riders: Robinson Chalapud. Except him there was 15 other riders in the group, with Mario Aerts (OmegaPharma) being the most reknowned.
When the climbs started, Chalapud dropped all of his companions and went for a solo ride. The other escapees were brought back by the pack.
He descended really fast and extended his advantage over the pack to over four minutes.
Chalapud crossed the top of the penultimate KoM sprint with a good buffer of 4'30 over the peloton, still feeling quite fresh.
When we reached the foot of the final climb, the pack had Chalapud in sight. He knew that it was over, so he decided to slow down.
Just a couple of seconds later, Wiggins attacked! The Brit quickly passed Chalapud and took the lead.
Ardila realised the danger and attacked to bridge up to Wiggins, who was already 30" ahead.
A couple of k's later, Gesink and Nibali picked up chase of the two riders in front of them. This was starting to get interesting. Where was pre-race favourite Leipheimer?
No one came close to Wiggins today, though. A great victory for him and Team Sky. He has probably already wrapped up the overall win too, since he won't lose it in the TT.
Ardila fought hard, but never managed to catch Wiggins. He lost 39" in the end, a result we are really happy with.
Gesink cracked Nibali in the final and took the third and last podium spot. He has a good chance to pass Ardila in the TT too, so a good stage for the Dutchman.

Damn, this is hard. I wanted you to win but Sky won at the end. I guess win - win situation, great podium
Looking at sprinter's list and Forero's form I think you should accomplish your goal ! Nontheless - Good luck

@tsmoha: Thank you!
@ricotero: I hope so too! It would be great, but I think it might be hard to stay in front of Gesink and Nibali.
@Alakagom: I knew you would like the result! Forero should indeed be able to achieve our goal. At least I hope so.
@Tombola / Freitas: Thanks!
@Tombola again: It certainly is. At least there are many the overall favourites in this race. Most of them are in bad shape, though. Still, it's very nice to see that we can get good results in races with bigger names competing too.

27.03.2011: Critérium International
Stage 2
Porto-Vecchio - Porto-Vecchio: 72.6km
The second stage is a very short flat one. At just 72 kilometres, it's one of the shortest road stages I have seen. It is quite easy too, and should end up in a mass sprint. There are some smaller difficulties, though. The most important one is that the final two k's is slightly uphill, approximately 2%. This is our last chance to achieve our goal, a stage win. Can we do it? Let's see!
Guess who was on the attack early today? You're right, it was KoM leader Robinson Chalapud.
He got what he wanted. The KoM sprint after 23 kilometres. He has know wrapped up the KoM classification, since there is no more KoM sprints in this race.
After achieving his goal, Chalapud slowed down and was caught by some other riders who had broke away from the peloton.
It was all back together with twenty k left thanks to great work by the French teams and especially Cofidis.
Our sprint train worked very well today. Peña pulled off with three k left and Nishitani took over, showing what a great leadout man he actually is. Forero followed right behind Nishitani, charging up for a launch.
Forero was feeling good, so he went for a long sprint with almost two k to go. Behind him, Dumoulin was coming with great speed. Was the Frenchman going to steal another win out of Forero's hands?
No! Forero was too strong in the final kilometer and won easily. Dumoulin never came really close, neither did the others. A great win for us and most importantly, we achieved our sponsor goal!

Excellent result. Just great. Walking away from this race with GC podium, stage win and KOM jersey is massive achievemnt for a Colombian team and considering it is .HC race it will give you loads of points. ( another banana coming )
