Best MSR I've seen for a while.
Finish really played into Goss's hands - but really well done to be there to pick up the win. Nicely done. |

Bit surprised that there wasnt a regrouping on the descent of the Poggio...gap was only five seconds between the group that won and the chasers when they crested. That would have set up an interesting finish with Bennati, Petacchi, Haussler, Sagan et al. Credit to Goss for being the only sprinter smart enough to recognize the move and being strong enough to sneak into it. |

Heh, before the race I thought another Aussie would have a big chance to win, either Haussler or Goss.
Goss wins, meaning the Australians have now won 3/4 World Tour races held so far...(GC of class.races + oneday races)
Sick. They only forgot to win the PN gc. They won the Tirreno GC, Down Under GC and San Remo. |

So Richie Porte wins the Giro, Evans wins the Tour and Matty Lloyd wins the Vuelta with Pereiro style win.

Indeed great season by the Australians so far - but too bad Haussler didn't make it, would liked that very much |

Meh, if Porte wins one of the hardest Giro's in history when it comes to climbing I'll eat my desktop |

I may now go to Italy and "nudge" the result in the right direction just to make this a reality

just watched the replay this morning. Goss couldn't put a foot wrong!
Is he the first aussie to win here? Even if he was the media here will barely touch the story. Instead front page of tomorrow's paper will be of the most recent football player affair.....
ETA: or more likely the failures of Ricky Ponting. Because losing cricket games to Pakistan is much harder than winning Milan San - Remo...

Yeah it is a shame our media doesn't touch it. However, ABC had it as the second top sport's story on their site when I checked earlier today. |

and yeaah it was McLarer after all..come on italians you can figure something out to diqualify him. Second was Spartacus..we have always something against him ready..third was Gilbert ..but hey he is Omega Pharma guy. And we have italian winner. Ballan..congratulation and we have also all italian podium
This was Italian-Ferrari racing mode..it comes after expert level.

I'm so glad I missed this...
On a different note: What happened to all the "radios make racing boring"? |
