But Popovych isn't currently suspended, is he ?

mb2612
I was very confused by that as well, you can suspend someone for owning doping products can't you?

Who says there isn't an investigation going on somewhere?

Any time Popovych's doping comes up, my mind immediately jumps to May 2008. Popovych had been very good until then, especially at Paris-Nice.

Then his best friend, decade-long roommate and career-long teammate Vladimir Bileka said he was retiring immediately.

Later in the season we found out he had tested positive for EPO. The moment he "retired" was the moment Popovych's performances went into the gutter. He was horrifyingly bad for the rest of the year, and at the end of the season he asked Lotto to end his contract so he could go back to Bruyneel.

Huh, Popovych denies stuff was found at his house:

About Popovych, I'm also wondering why we haven't heard of this until now - if it's true, that is.

Thing is though - what difference does it make now whether Popo was doping or not. Hell, what difference does it make now whether LA was doping or not?

All I really care about now is who is going to be up there in the big spring races? Pfft

Sports Illustrated comes up with fresh new doping allegations against Armstrong

Fresh off the press...

https://sportsillu.../index.htm

It's an interesting read for sure.

Thanks for that Smile
For those who know all the evidence presented in the past, here's what's new:

- Armstrong had contact with Dr. Ferrari as recently as 2009;
- Doping products were found during the raid on Popovych's house a few months ago;

Yeah, calling what appears in an article as evidence is a bit overdoing. Right, a reporter will never stretch, bend or fabricate the truth.

I draw your attention to Andy Schleck being billed foremost as a
former Tour of Britain King of the Mountains winner

Well all know all of that is just one big conspiracy anyway, don't we ?

He'd be nothing without the experience he gained battling up all those British mountains to win that title!

Cofidis, Europcar, FDJ + Saur-Sojasun to get Tour de France wildcards

Meanwhile Cofidis, Europcar, FDJ and Bretagne-Schuller get to ride Paris-Nice.

Too bad. I would've liked to see Menchov and Sastre in the Tour.

There a reasonable chance that either the Vuelta or the Giro will be won by Menchov, then.

Just thinking the same thing. Seems more likely that Saur are at the Tour.

Must be a mistake Grin
Can`t see Bretagne in the tour and Saur was so close last year so they would deserve it.
