I don`t think Andy will do great. In my opinion he is not there to finish the Vuelta. He might finish if Frank needs help for Top 3. |

Wow Caisse have a strong team...
If both Bos and Hushovd are riding the Vuelta, who will be the lead sprinter? |

I think they will race for Hushovd the first stages to see if he is better then he was in the Tour, if he isn't, they will probably use Bos instead. |

I'm hoping they will give Bos a chance after the poor results by Hushovd in the TdF

he is intresting rider..but should be in podium...is still to much for me. It would be nice, and I wont be schocked. But he has not done any that promising GT so far..like
Andy and Giro 2007, vand den Broeck and same race year later. Nibali and tour 2009..
If we looking podium..my only shot will be Nibali

Hushovd just came back from injury in the TDF, and he did great compared to the time he had to get ready for the TDF. He never had time to train specific sprint training.
And he is only in the Vuelta for the training benefits. So they will proberbly ride for him in the begining regardless of his results. Then in the second and third week. They will ride for Bos.
But, if Thor leads the points ranking coming into the second week he might finish the Vuelta. Who knows?

Hushovd will get all the help he needs to get in shape and maybe win. Its been a while since he finished the tour and he sure has been trained sprint and maybe prouloge so either will he sprint alone with his rivals or get help from Bos, i do not think they will ride for him (Bos) unless Hushovd quit the tour at the end, and rides Tour of Britain to sprint even more and be so good in sprint that he is good enough to be the captain at the Norwegian WC team.

Weak? Not really. Strong as usual.
Antón, Nibali, Kreuziger, Vande Velde, LL Sánchez, A. Schleck, F. Schleck, Menchov, RodrÃguez, Hushovd, Sastre, Moncoutié, Danielson, Farrar, Petacchi, Kashechkin, Bennati, Gilbert, Freire, Cavendish, Cancellara, Mosquera.
Probably someone else I'm forgetting.

I'm still wondering if it's a good or bad thing for the Vuelta to be used as a preparation race for the WC. Most top riders only come there for 10 days to 2 weeks, and then off to finish their preparation. It's a shame, since it would deserve a more concerned field in my opinion.
I think it was better to have the WC early August... |

The past few years the teams have been waking up to the fact that the top finishers in the WC RR are always guys who finish the Vuelta (2008 excepted, as the WC was ridiculously early that year).
So if you quit after two weeks....your loss.

I hope that there is a reason that you mentioned Anton first.
Because i cant wait to see him in mountain stages. |

And this year the WC is a week later so maybe more will ride the whole Vuelta.

Remember that the WC is in Australia... That means that a lot of riders will choose to travel early because of the time difference |

I think it works out pretty well for the Vuelta. Generally, the guys going after the GC are not the same as the guys going after the WC.
What you - ideally - get to see is the WC guys trying to bag a stage or two which I kind of like. |

Don't forget too that this year we have an extra week between the vuelta and the worlds.

Vande Velde said himself that he wont be a GC threat.
https://www.cyclingnews.com/news/vande...-the-sport
Edit: Does this signify the end of VDV's career and the downfall to come? Even if he continues for a few more years? Maybe some rider moves up as the teams lead GC rider. Hesjedal, Martin, I've heard Bobridge could become a talented GC rider in a few years. Just thinking.
