So Cavendish is so much faster than every other sprinter and yet no one even brings up doping, cycling is really getting better.

How can people say charteau was a surprise or the best rider? Ok he won the the polka dot but it wasn't that hard considering Moreau was his biggest treat. |

But in most cases a better climber wins the dots like Cunego. He outclimbed and held off riders like that to win it. He is not known as a top or even medium class climber so yes it was a surprise he was climbing so well. |

Like is said in my previous post, his biggest treat was Moreau. Now I agree its a little bit of a surprise but to say he outclimbed and held off riders like Cunego and so on is not exactly true considering they didn't try to take the jersey. |

Dunno what dope can make you a faster rider. Perhaps some muscle enlargening stuff, but that is (As far as I know) very easily traceable. I doubt he is a stronger survivor than the others due to epo, but who knows.
I doubt he is doped, he is much faster than the rest, and have been for 2-3 years now. Seems odd to bring it to the surface at this point, where he goes exactly average of his previous 2 Tours.

Dope can tweak your body in almost any purpose you could think of. HGH would be one, EPO or blood transfusion also brings you way fresher to the sprint, and helps you riding faster for a better positionning, etc.
Now, Cavendish is not suspected for many reasons. He's never been taken positive, he's not in a team that has had a lot of positives, and as far as I know he's not working with suspicious doctors.
There's no special reason to assume he's doping, if he had to be caught one day, don't count on me to say it was so predictable, it isn't. There's nothing against him, as far as I know (well, he's working with Zabel, who was shining during an era of very widespread doping among the peloton...). |

Best Rider:Schleck, because he's now able to beat Contador climbing, and is not that far in an end-tour tt, and I guess he can still improve.
Best Sprinter: Mark Cavendish, not that I like to say it, but it's a fact, he's the best sprinter
Best Domestique: Voigt of course...
Best Stage: missed a lot of them (working, gf, etc etc...), so it's difficult to choose --> no real best stage for me
Amusing Moment of the Race: some cows looking at the opposite side of the peloton when this one passed, at the same time Jacky Durand says "De l'autre côté les filles, de l'autre côté!!!" ("On the other side guys!", then one cow looked back, saw the main bunch and began to run with all the others waking up. Really funny to see those animals running after the peloton.
Best Team: Saxo Bank, I thought they would have lost everything with Frank Schleck out, but the did it well (excepting in the Alps): 4 wins, one jersey and a gc top3, not that bad...
Surprise of the Tour: Van den Broeck, I knew him as a great hope, now he's a serious possibility for GT podiums
Most Decisive Stage: La Madeleine
Worst Rider: well not really the worst one but Freire... so disappointing... so was Le Mevel
Worst Team: Caisse d'Epargne (LL Sanchez was an absolute ghost, Moreau a pathetic "I'm gonna steal the polka dot to others french riders like I used to try with Virenque", no work for Rojas and so on)
Worst Stage: Champs Elysées... I fell asleep 3 times
Most Boring Team: BMC, they can thank Evans for the tv time, without him, they wouldn't have been seen by anyone, even worst than Footon... |

Best Rider: Van Den Broeck and Vinokourov
Best sprinter: Cavendish
Best domestique: Gesink
Best stage: Mende, 1st real head to head battle between Schleck and Contador
Amusing moment of the race: Team Radioshack fiasco at the start of the final stage.
Best team: Rabobank 2 riders in the top 7.
Suprise of the tour: Chris Horner, never expected a top 10 placing from him.
Most decisive stage: stage over the Port de Bales to Bagneres du Luchon.
Worst rider: Ivan Basso
Worst team: Liquigas, got a top 10 but didnt really show the strength they brought.
Worst stage: stage to Gap.
Most boring team: Team Milram, done nothing at all.
Worst moment: Schlecks chain coming off.
