Joaquim Rodriguez and Robert Gesink will be Contador's two biggest rivals in the mountains, only to lose three minutes each in the final tt, and sacrificing their podium positions to Ivan Basso and Denis Menchov. Egoi martinez takes the polka dots, Freire the green, and Gesink the white. Armstrong will finish top 6-10, while Wiggins and S. Sanchez will be the dissapointments of the tour. The Schleck bro's will also finish top 10, but Frank will beat Andy. But what the hell, outside of Contador winning, the tour is impossible to predict, so this is probably all wrong.

why Rodriguez or Gresink should sacrifice to Basso..?
Fränk is better then Andy?..decided from what? Suisse tour win?
Andy sucked in California tour..
I believe that it wil be same as year ago..Andy and Contador will go.. I am intrested what Menchov can do...or just Tour bad perfomances will continue.
I miss-worded that; I meant they'll lose the time in the final TT. I don't necessarily think Frank is better than Andy, but Andy just can't find his form this year. Also, the field is much stronger than last year's, so I definitely don't think it will be another Andy/Contador battle. Also this is directed @ Smitho: The parcours does seem great for Sammy Sanchez, but he never really enough focuses on the tour. |

Menchov is technically the leader going in, but Rabobank would like nothing more than to see Gesink emerge as a leader. |

I will also like to see Gesink with freedom to attack during the race, but knowing his TT skills, as he demonstrate in Switzerland, and looking km in TT, I think that Menchov will be the leader!! |

If he wins a grand tour, it'll be the Giro or the Vuelta. Can't see him winning the Tour as long as Contador is there.
Maybe when Contador is old (he is 3 years older) Gesink can win one of the 'in between' years like Riis, Ullrich, Pantani, Sastre and Pereiro did in the past |

@ mangoman164 - I think he has a decent chance and he might be focusing on the tour this year you never know considering euskaltel have both inxausti and anton for the tour and not to mention sicard. I just think he might suprise a few people, he always does it quite quietly like zubeldia used to aswell. Hope to see him attack on one of those decents, might put some of the favourites in trouble. |

It wouldn't be a tour de france without me claming Cunego is going to do well... but i really can't be bothered this year.
For me Contador is a HUGE favourite... i just hope that people try to put him under pressure on the cobbled stage..
I think it will be similar people up there as last year.. replace Nibali with Basso... add in Levi to the top 5... Lance shold be better than last year... or his performance in the Tour de Suisse lends us to believe this.
I hope Gesink and Sammy do a good tour and both get top 10's.
For the Green jersey i'm not sure... Farrar looked strong at the giro... Cav hasn't done much this year.. but the tour is the tour... i'm sure he'll get a couple of stages. Hushovd will be there or there abouts and i hope Oscar can grab another tour stage.
Mountains jersey... who knows... I'm sure it will be between a frenchman.. maybe vogondy.. he's be riding well... Someone like Joaquim Rodriguez may go for it too... or Cunego... but i highly doubt it.
So to sum up my top 3 is:
Contador, A Schleck, L A...

On the entirely flat bunch sprint stages, Id expect Boasson Hagen to be left to his own devices.
If theres any finishes in a smaller group than the full peloton, then someone like Thomas may help Hagen.
Im not sure that Sky will want Thomas to use too much energy on the flat, with Wiggins being the main focus of the team.

yes, thats why Henderson isn't at the tour. As much resources as possible go to Wiggins.

He's an interesting figure this year.
I'm not too sure of his form, he's giving evidence to show he is in good form, and it stands.
After Bruxelles we'll know for sure how he is. However until then, i'm still going to say he'll win Stage 1.

Rogers will surely do a top 10, he's having the best year of his career.
