Menchov for the Giro will be 50%, said Breukink. They have yet to plan the season fully.
Menchov has shown last year he doesn't necessarily need a warpup Grand Tour to be good in his second one, while the Giro does start in Amsterdam next year, bringing quite some sponsor pressure for a strong Rabobank lineup, plus he is the defending champion.
But Menchov is definatly not a sure thing. |

Menchov won't be happy to hear that
He said the Giro was a certainty and he'd still have to choose between the Tour and the Vuelta.

Then we have two different sources saying two different things
We'll just have to wait then I guess. |

Well it's pretty obvious they want Gesink as leader in the Tour now. He is the future for them (Rabobank) in case of pure PR (dutch rider, dutch team, everyone seems to like him).
The reason why Breukink says it's 50% chance, is because they maybe want to spare Menchov to have him as sort of super helper for Gesink in the Tour, and then as leader in the Vuelta. |

Do Rabobank think Gesink is the better GC rider now? because Menchov looked good at the Giro, although I guess with no TT stages anywhere this year Gesink will stand a better chance.

It's now been revealed that the 1st stage of the Vuelta, which is a TTT in Valencia, will be starting very late in the day - it won't end until c. 23. |

Actually, my post was a response to Crue's, not your post. Seville is the right word in English, if I'm not mistaken.
Meh, it's not that great mistake. Only like 500 km. |

So, you've just told us that "it's now been revealed" something that's been known for months, plus you got the city wrong.
And you call yourself a journalist

I don't call myself a journalist - yet
Besides, I had no idea it had already been revealed. It appeared in Danish media today, and doddy, kumazan and A_Schleck don't quite seem like people who knew it before I posted it here
... but you're right, I got the city wrong |

It's maybe not the most interesting race but the Tour of Langkawi (2.HC) will be moved to the first week of March. It will have 7 stages and 20 teams, including 3 ProTour teams.
1e etappe: Kota Bharu - Kuala Berang (174,5 km)
2e etappe: Kuala Terengganu-Chukai (183 km)
3e etappe: Pekan - Mersing (144 km)
4e etappe: Mersing - parit Sulong (163,5 km)
5e etappe: Muar - Port Dickson (140 km)
6e etappe: Putrajaya - Genting Highlands (104 km)
7e etappe: Kuala Kubu Baru-Dataran Merdeka (93 km)
