Yup, no team will be as devoted solely to him as Columbia are.
However, Sky have shown with Wiggins and Swift that they don't care about other teams' rights and will go to any lengths to forcefully get who they want, and I really don't think Columbia will want to get into a pissing match. I'm pretty sure if it gets down and dirty, Columbia caves.

Given Team Sky's main goal is to get a Brit Tour de France winner, you can't help but think that Cav would be better off staying at Columbia

Well haven't been following cycling for very long only year and a half. And i know they have some half-decent riders like Roulston, Velits but they still would need someone to fill the huge hole that Cav would leave if he left.

It's not so much about the Roulstons. Yes, they're decent riders, but they have the Rogers and Monforts who are much better.
But mostly it's about the large number of top, TOP prospects they have, that can all turn into elite riders.

ARGG Completely forgot about Rogers. HE is a tt machine. Yes they have many prospects that have fantastic potential but I don't beleive they will grow to be dominant within the next year. (Or atleast not more than one or two) which is why I think they still need to fill the gap if Cavendish leaves at the end of the season. Anyway...
