Dan Martin
Great stuff by him, i think he'll ride the tour next year from what Matt White was saying.

There might be a live stream of the Tour de Wallonie in 15 minutes. Hopefully RTBF won't geo-restrict their website, usually they are quite good and don't.

4th Bakelandts, 5th Mollema in that stage.
Weird finale, it looked hard, but at the end a few others came back and the group behind was still big |

Mollema put in a few big efforts though, as did Bakelandts.
Downing came from nowhere, had no idea where he was, but he managed to get himself to 5th overall with that. Quite a good stage though, used a large sector from the Fleche. Instead of going up the Mur de Huy it went straight on.
Tomorrow is another hilly stage but much easier than today

Yeah, the front five stopped working in the final km, so the gap came down rapidly (the second group was 10 seconds behind). So Downing and co could make the jump
Bit of a shame really, well obviously not for those others, but for the front 6.
It makes the GC for tomorrow still very exciting though.
I don't know how many boni sprints there are, but Marcato and Mangel are only 1 second apart. |

From the Sky website
After Tuesday's exertions there will be a few weary riders who won't like the look of the first-category Côte de Trasenter, which comes just 10.5km after they exit Chaudfontaine. Two sprints and another ascent up the Côte d'Ovifat (category 3) are also on the menu before the equally tough Mur d'Eupen (category 1 at 105.4km) rounds off the mountains classification. The race itself then culminates with a 43.1km anti-clockwise loop of Lontzen, with the final intermediate sprint points up for grabs on the first crossing of the finish line. Any sprinters that are still in touch at that point will be readying themselves again as they sweep back into Lontzen for what promises to be a gripping race climax.

I bet he is glad the lead group decided to suddenly give up their 40 second lead in the final kilometer yesterday, enabling him to make the jump and finish in the same time... |

Rasmussen did not take part in the race for Miche. Instead, he was sponsored by "Christina Racing". The woman behind that is the one who owns Christina Design (London). |

Italian Jacopo Guarnieri (Liquigas) won 1st stage of Tour de Pologne after finish from group of about 20 riders. Finish was greatly affected with mass crash about 1,5 kms before line, which have stopped most of the peloton, including Greipel, Benatti and other top sprinters.
Guarnieri won thanks to great leadout from Peter Sagan, quite surprising to see Czech workin for Italian, not the other way around!
Results:
1. Jacopo Guarnieri
2. Aitor Galdos
3. Allan Davis
4. Sebastien Chavanel
5. Jaroslaw Marycz
6. Chris Sutton
7. Alexander Kristoff
8. Marcel Sieberg
9. Wouter Weylandt
10. Mathieu Drujon |

Not really strange. Guarnieri is a pure sprinter and Sagan is a punchy rider with a reasonable sprint.
Guarnieri's been disappointing as a pro. He was supposed to be the next big thing as a sprinter, but after almost equalling Petacchi in his first sprint as a pro, he's hardly done much. Just a couple of Tour of Poland stage wins in 2 years as a pro.
Then again he's 22, so....plenty of time.
Also, Sagan is Slovakian. Not very different, I know, but still not Czech.
The preceding post is ISSO 9001 certified
