It has been fairly well publicised that Froome was diagnosed with Bilharzia, a disease caused by parasitic worms that has an impact on the immune system. Froome was first diagnosed with bilharzia in 2011, and was believed to have picked it up in Kenya in November 2010; he also suffered again from the disease in early 2012.
Undoubtedly bilharzia could result in a drop in performance for a professional cyclist.
Another credible theory is that Froome is a natural late developer. Growing up in Kenya and training in South Africa, could easily have stalled his development, compared to what it could have been if he had been with a top European team from a young age. Froome's breakthrough tour came when he had just turned 26; that is a realistic age for a grand tour contender to break through if they have not had top training since a youngster.
Ah yes the famous disease. You mentioned he might have picked it up in late 2010.
Let's watch his natural climbing talent in 2009 shall we:
https://www.youtub...mp;t=7m55s
read below his talent wasnt fullfilled then,he was riding for bad team, with no training.
oh yeah you are another Froome hater...see ya when Mollema and Ten Dam get caught...their progress seems very realistic, especially Ten Dam!
You clearly have no idea what a hater is.
I never said Ten Dam was clean (because I can't guarantee for anyone like you guys do with Froome), but let's look at this:
2007 - 9th at Volta a Catalunya, 8th in Deutschland Tour
2008 - 10th Tour de Suisse, 20th Tour de France (while working for Denis Menchov)
2009 - helped Menchov win Il Giro. Before Menchov got the pink jersey he was there with the big names: https://www.cqrank...ceid=11444
2010 - not a great year, but if I'm not mistaken he was either sick or injured
2011 - 8th Tour de Suisse, 6th Tour of California
2012 - 8th Vuelta a Espana
Those results might not be as good as he looks to be in this Tour, but for sure he doesn't come from nowhere as someone else.

Not sure how could any of the known drugs transform a guy who was "crap" into someone like Froome. Even Armstrong was already good before EPO.
I believe that most drugs make riders climb one level. If you're bad, you become average, if you're average you become good.
I don't think there's anything that turns crap into "best GT rider in the world by a mile". |

I have to ask: How do you feel about Contador?
i dont care about him...i just defend Froome and sky because people cant accept that they might be clean....people doesnt even give them 10% chance that they might not be doped....that's what hurts me the most.
If Froome is caught then i shall be humiliated and embaressed, but they aren't!
I have a question for you all?
Why cant you appreciate his talent and enjoy it...why people always doubt something that is amazing!
Also if you were given a choice to have what would you want?
Froome do be caugt doping!
Or would you want for him to be clean and still dominate all!
I think most people would be happy if he is doper, because they dont want Froome to be good!
Also i am from Latvia and i dont have any affections towards British.
I would love to hear some opinion from someone in Britain!

For sure Froome is a very talented cyclist, just as Armstrong was. I think there is no doubt about it. But the difference between average to good to very good to dominating the worlds biggest race is pretty big.
But then again: when you dominate a sport, you must be a doper, is too easy to say. Don't think Usain Bolt, Michael Phelps, Sven Kramer, Marianne Vos, etcetera, are or have been called a doper.

Last time I checked, you didn't have to be British to be a nationalist.

Oh wait, because I defend the two Belkin boys?
Well atleast I have arguments to defend them, and you don't know this, but in the Netherlands you are burned to the ground if you dope, the whole media will follow you and judge you. Unlike other countries... I don't see any reason as to why they would dope and I genuinely believe they didn't dope. |

I'm from Britain and have 0% belief in Froome. Anyone from Britain with knowledge of cycling tends to hold a similar view. |

Armstrong couldn't climb. Armstrong couldn't time trial.
You have to remember two things:
1. The margins between guys at the top are very very small. A 1% improvement is the difference between a podium and an anonymous 20th place.
2. The same drugs have different effects on different people. Armstrong was a superresponder to EPO, as were IndurĂ¡in, Ullrich, etc.
The same way that you might take an aspirin for a headache and it has no effect while the guy next to you also takes one and his headache is instantly gone.
