Todays transfers
Robinho to Chelsea - Stall
Arvshavin to Tottenham - Off
So no big news there then
On a sadder note, Thuram was diagnosed with a heart condition when he went for a medical with PSG. He's decided to retire, and no wonder - his brother died of a similar condition. This is truly a sad end to the career of Lilian Thuram, one of France's all time great players in my opinion.
So, only a meagre 30 days to go until the transfer window closes -looking forward to the market heating up a bit on the 31st, anyone? |

Anyone else heard the news about Barton?
Yes, Keegan is giving him another chance, but the FA aren't and Barton is facing a 15 match ban
And after only beating some Faroe Island team 4-0 on aggregate, Mark Hughes has declared that he wants to sign more and better strikers

It's a good day so far
In fact the only down part of the day so far, is spending a whole hour sat in a Kia Shuma
Other than that, it is good

A very interesting read:
Figo’s Barça-Madrid Secret Revealed
José Veiga, the former agent of Luis Figo, has exposed a startling fact behind the player’s hugely controversial move from Barcelona to arch nemesis, Real Madrid in 2000.
Veiga, who is currently the chairman of English League One side, Swindon Town has revealed how former Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez managed to pull off one of the biggest shocks in transfer history by snapping up Luis Figo from Barcelona for €65 million.
Accoring to Sport, Veiga disclosed that he had signed a pre-agreement with Pérez, who was running against Lorenzo Sanz for the club’s presidency then, to bring Figo to the Bernabéu.
He then claimed that the main reason he signed the document was to pressure Barcelona into accepting a contract improvement for the player, in addition to pocketing a handsome €3 million in commission.
What Veiga didn’t know at the time – other than the fact that Lorenzo Sanz would lose the elections and hand the reigns over to Pérez – was that as per the signed agreement, there was a €30 million exit fee attached should Veiga or Figo himself break the contract to join Los Blancos.
With Veiga trapped between a rock and a hard place, Figo then asked the agent: “What do we do now?” to which Veiga replied, “There are three options. One, you remain at Barça and pay the €30 million which you do not have, two, you don’t pay them and I go to jail, or three, you go to Real Madrid.”
Veiga believes that it is a similar tactic that current president Ramón Calderón is using to snatch Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United; making the player sign a deal with Los Merengues that includes a penalty clause that could cost the Portuguese millions should he break his end of the deal.

Hahaha just saw the news that Roma don't have the money for David Silva so they are looking at Yossi Benayoun instead. It's like 2 universes difference in class between those players |

You can have, for all i'm concerned. But in reality i don't think there is any truth to the rumor anyway. And to say that they don't have the money for silva is not entirely true. The other day they had an 18 million pound bid for Mutu turned down. They have the money, but i think they don't want to spend their entire budget on him.

Djibril Cisse has sent a "come and get me" message to Man City boss, Mark Hughes.
Yes, I like Cisse, but not because of his football, but because of his hair-styles he actually isn't a great goalscorer...
I like the way that the place where I read this that they say. "With Jo missing the start of the season because he is in Beijing with Brazil, Man City will require another top-class striker as Benjani is currently injured"
Benjani - a top-class striker? please kill me

Sneijder got injured against Arsenal yesterday.
Bernd Schuster says that it's not looking good, so maybe he can't play for a while. It may open for a Ronaldo deal?
Tomorrow it's time for Vålerenga IF - Liverpool FC, 19:00 at Ullevaal Stadion. Someone else who is going to watch the game LIVE?
