cavendish could have won easily if he wanted. he was practically slowing down at the end so he didn't pass his lead out man. if he was going for the sprint he wouldn't have spent the last 250m looking backwards. if at any point Bennati or Zabel had made a move Cavendish would have stood up on the pedals and raced to his 3rd win of the Giro.

This was my E-mail
Hello again,
Thank you very much for reading my comment out on TV, I would have e-mailed earlier but I was too nervous. When you talked about Simon Cope my whole family had their mouths wide open, Simon is my sister coach and he is doing a great job to take to the Olympics. I will keep in contact, shall I just e-mail this e-mail?
Thank you again, Matt Booth
Go check the tv schedules in Belgium we allways get a delayed broadcast aswell.
They show a big part of the live stage again, either the day after just before noon or very late the evening of the stage ... so if your lucky you can still catch it

Gotta have a fair amount of respect for Cavendish... He seems to be the only modest guy in the world who has enough talent to win sprints... The rest seems to be arses "off the pitch" also...
About Boonen..he was realy dissapointed, I never have seen so much fake happy face.
Steegmans should swich the team..like Lotto for example. he is super strong and fast sprinter...Boonen had at 2007 season few time's serious problems to pass he's lead out man. Steegmans should almost few times hit the brake to let Boonen pass.

I dont think many sprinters try to pass thier leadout men if they dont have to, Boonen in the tour looked just as happy when he realised his team mate (Stegmans?) had won as if he had won himself
i seriously doubt that lol Boonen wasn't happy when he lost in ghent lol

he was more relieved that it was a teammate than anything else imo
Rubbish quality but at the end you can clearly see Boonen trying to get past Steegmans and failing. He even started to celebrate before he realised Steegmans had won.

Also in Kuurne earlier in that same year, Boonen only won because Steegmans stopped pedalling, otherwise Steegmans would've won easily.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Boonen is not as fast as Steegmans. Steegmans just has a consistency problem.
and a problem handling pressure, still should be in a different team. He would get used to it then and could have a far nicer career then the one his having atm
I've always wanted Quickstep to make Boonen lead out Steegmans. Mainly because I hate Boonen but also because he is such a great lead-out man, as shown by McEwen many times during his prime. Boonen goes from a long way out and is powerful enough to keep it up for a while, then Steegmans can just use his incredible acceleration and go past.
I think Boonen leading out Steegmans would be more productive than it is with Steegmans leading out Boonen.
The difference is that the tour de france stage was very open and there is no way boonen could just wait on stegmans wheel as he couldnt be sure, he pulled out with a long way to go. Cav had everyone lined up behind him and no one even went for it so the result was never in doubt
Cav definitely let Griepel win. If you watch, Cav pulls himself up to the speed where he would come out of the wheel then put in a burst of speed to go flat out, but looked round, and slowed up.
Nice tactics by High Road, the late corner definitely helped them
And Smoothie - get that in writing, and make sure your sister gets in the Olympics
