What bizarre logic. He lives on one side of the fight [the safe side] and as such is likely to have the most skewed view of the entire thing. Just being closer to the action doesn't mean you get a full view.
Being several thousand miles away doesn't give you a better understanding of the situation either.
I never said it did.

@kida
Now it's you who's assuming things I didn't wrote. Since when being biased and partial means lies? While that can happen, lies aren't needed for something to be partial.
And sorry if I was misleading, but my "you" wasn't even specifically yourself. "you", as someone who's under the influence of Israeli media/government/society (which apparently is not your case). Hope that got cleared.
But if you still cannot understand how one side of the conflict (any conflict) doesn't get the full view... well, that'd be your problem.
Pay attention that I didn't said I got the full view either, before you assume things again, but the likelihood of foreign media/government/society to be biased and not impartial, is a hell lot lower.

Just out of interest, is your media talking about it? If so what stance are they taking on it? |

A quick admin notice:
Keep the discussions being done here within this topic. Don't move it into your avatar or signature through political statements or those flag avatars.
We'd prefer to let the discussion here run freely, so keep things friendly. One or two posts have gone too far already, and I don't want to see that escalate. As the first post does say:
There will be no slandering, name-calling etc. Everyone is entitled to an opinion and can freely express it, within certain limits.

Yeah I think the main purpose of the flags and sig stuff is to piss people off, which isn't cool.

Actually, it's to show support in the face of blatant oppression. However, I'll get rid of the avatar to avoid conflict. |

An interesting article that talks about MH17 flight. Worth a read, if nothing.

You know the UN Security Council is pointless when 3 of the 5 permanent members have previously blown passenger planes out of the sky.... |

Well I just opened this thread to see the ad bot advertise the Palestine appeal and Gaza emergency appeal. Deja vu, what a coincidence too as it is hot topic at the moment.

There was a family who lost relatives in both Malaysian Airlines crashes. And there was also a family where the mum and dad decided to stay in Holland for a bit longer, so the granddad and two kids went ahead on MH17 and yeah...

Also a Dutch cyclist riding for a Malaysian cycling team was booked in both flights but changed both last minute due to cheaper prices in other airlines. He was already in the waiting hall for one flight.

Not sure if already mentioned, but there's also the bizarre story of Maarten de Jonge. He's a cyclist of a Malaysian team(and is actually in the Daily DB )
Narrowly escaped from both Malaysia Airlines flights, by switching a flight last-minute.
How lucky can one be

On the afro-american guy who was shot by the police in the US; I take no sides, but I understand the protests. However, what's with the fucking looting and burning?
"Oh, the police shot someone, better go rob a store and burn a car!".
There's a fine line between "psychotherapist" and "psycho the rapist"

Pretty common behavior when there's a semi-violent protest like such. The real passionate protesters are "protecting" the store
baseballlover312, 06-03-14 : "Nuke Moscow...Don't worry Russia, we've got plenty of love to go around your cities"
Sarah Palin, 08-03-14 (CPAC, on Russian aggression) : "The only thing that stops a bad guy with a nuke is a good guy with a nuke"
Big thanks to jdog for making this AMAZING userbar!
