De Gendt has no chance for a podium. I'm sorry, but he got this podium because the GC field was weak and he attacked.

I don't think De Gendt will be at the podium of the Vuelta either. But I do believe he's got a hell lot of potential, and one day he'll come back to win the Giro or the Vuelte.
+ He has balls, and I admire that in a rider. Thanks to this, he got a third place instead of being 8th |

You say that as if he had to apologize for attacking.

I think he ought to be disqualified, that isn't playing by the rules! |

2nd pro win-> Stage 8 2010 Tour of California
3rd pro win-> 2012 Giro d'Italia
Legend
Needless to say that the AToC stage win was his biggest ever. Who cares about some small Italian and Spanish races?
I´m glad Hesjedal won the Giro. He always was one of the riders i liked, but after such a great Giro he probably is my favourite atm.
The GC podium is probably the best one possible after those three weeks, Hesjedal and Rodriguez were the strongest riders (at least in my eyes) and an attacking rider like De Gendt is better than a weak Basso/Scarponi.

Oh, forgot to post this before, apparently the maglia rosso passione point rules could be modified to be biased in favour of the sprinters. All because a random guy (with a Sky avatar, obviously) complained to Acquarone because Cavendish didn't win it:

Pathetic.

Blame Cav for being a pussy like the others and not atacking in the mountains!

Ridiculous, Rodriguez deserves the jersey. If Cavendish hadn't fallen that much, he would've won it, so it's possible for sprinters! |

Just to say.
It wasn't me
They shouldn't change it. Cav could have won it anyway without crashes so it's possible for a sprinter to win....

I don't know guys. In my head, the points jersey has always been a sprinter's thing. The GC riders have the overall ranking, mountains is for them as well or for the breakaway riders... and points jersey is for sprinters. Works fine for me

You have a point. But then the mountain finishes would be a lot of mountain points, and someone like Rabotinni wouldn't stand much chance of winning it, no? Anyway, it's not like Rodriguez didn't deserve it, he had some great results. But I agree that it's more a jersey for sprinters.
Though I thought there were too many flat stages in the giro. |

Arn't they tired of modifying the rules just so Cav can win a jersey?
There's a fine line between "psychotherapist" and "psycho the rapist"

After the first GT win for Australia last year and the first one for Canada this year, I wonder which country is next at breaking their GT duck. |

Correct me if I'm wrong, but a British rider has never won a GT, am I right? |

Yep, you're right. Another reason to cheer for Wiggins at the Tour! |

Yep. And that won't change any time soon. |
