Stage Two
After many punching and counter punching, a breakaway struggled to form with Katusha and Lotto riding hard from the start on the front but eventually they let a 4 man group go. Kurri (AJW), Daniel (SOJ), Tjallingii (BEL) and Rast (RLT). They have a short 60km to go with a 3 minute lead.
Lotto, Bardiani and IAM do the pulling with Katusha being allowed to sit back. The break lead is done to 2'30"
Rast takes the final intermediate sprint of the day, you can see the peloton fast approaching in the background. It will be difficult for the break to hold on.
We're on a circuit now, the peloton has the break in their sights.
Katusha have the most energy and are able to up the pace early for there man Kristoff, they don't want anyone attacking until the end of the stage now.
The break has been caught, Losando is pulling on the front. Many of the teams sprinters are getting themselves to the front. The weather is much better day and we are in for a much traditional bunch sprint.
With just 10km to go, it's Zardini's turn, the team are looking at sprinter Modolo for a good result on this stage.
Just like yesterday Fischer strings the peloton out by laying down a fierce pace before the sprint.
The pace slows down completely with no one willing to take a pull, it's a great time for an attack but no one takes up the opportunity.
Eventually with 4km to go, IAM have set up a train for Haussler, they know they need to get there noses in front of the Katusha train for yellow jersey Kristoff.
It's like a Tour stage, IAM train on the far left, Lotto have made a last minute train and trail the others. Lobato is involved today just behind the Modolo train of Bardiani. On the far right it's the same lead out as yesterday for Kristoff. Kakhi is on his wheels for Champion System.
All the trains pretty much lose their 3rd man at the same time, Lotto get squeezed back. Andorran Harrini (COF) finds the wheel of Kristoff.
IAM have the advantage of the inside line for the final short straight. Modolo is left by himself to sprint. Roelandts loses the wheel of his lead out man.
The sprinters start to unleash now, Haussler is just in front of Kristoff and being on the inside helps him. Modolo is out of energy already he is out of it. Lobato is the damage man here in the orange.
Haussler is in the lead with the finish in site. Lobato and Kristoff trail by a few metres. Roelandts gets himself back into the frame but it will probably be too late for him.
Haussler stays in front, Harrini is coming fast on the outside of Kristoff.
And Haussler takes it! He pulls his green jersey with the IAM logo. He will be in yellow for tomorrow.
I can't seem to find the exported results, I'll work them out tomorrow sorry about that. I'll have the top 10 stage results done later. Haussler in Yellow and Green. Hagg in Polka dot and Lobato in White.

Why did the Katusha train have to go on the outside of the turn? |

Well done Lobato!
At least I assume it's Lobato getting a podium place here?

Stage Three
Four riders break away from the start, Thurau (EUC), Russom (MTN), Amorison (CRE), Ghyselinck (COF).
A few kilometers later Jesse Sergent decides to bridge over to the break.
This is the closest 5 man intermediate sprint you will see, Thurau nips everyone to the line and picks up more bonus seconds. They regroup and have a 5 minute advantage.
Like yesterday, it's a mixture of Bardiani, Lotto, IAM and Katusha sharing the pace.
With 40km to go the peloton have whittled the break lead to 2'10".
This sprint is not so close, It's the Cofidis may who takes it, Thurau picks up my bonifications for his GC placing.
Under the 20km banner, the breaks lead is just over a minute and it is unlikely the sprinters wpn't be contesting for the win.
Under pressure from the peloton who have the break in their sights, Thurau is dropped, he'll try to cling onto the peloton as they pass him.
With 10km to go, the break is all but caught, the high pace at the front makes a mess of the peloton.
It's IAM who start to string the peloton. They will of course be leading out Haussler in the yellow jersey.
The teams decide to go for a short train today, Lobato, Roelandts, Modolo & Harrini are all there.
Lotto and Bardiani are head to head, the IAM team have been left behind and Haussler has a long way to make up.
Katusha get the better of both of them and take their man Kristoff to the front with one lead out man with Lobato on his wheel.
Kristoff opens up, so does Lobato. Lotto come up on the outside of the road with IAM getting Haussler back into the mix.
Under the banner Kristoff is in front. Roelandts approaches fast on the outside. Behind Lobato Haussler and Modolo come fast. On the other side of the road Kakhi is at top speed.
It's going to be Kristoff, the others scrap for 2nd and 3rd.
Kristoff takes his second win of the Glava Tour of Norway, he will try and hold onto the punchers tomorrow in an attempt to win overall.

Modolo has been pretty disappointing, another ok sprint, but considering our strong train, I expect more, as this is one of our best races so far train-wise. |
