No surprise at all... He will be a great rider I think.
A horrible team choice though, at least if you ask me. Personally I'd prefer basically any other team over Radioshack.

At Radioshack he probably has the Schleck(s) and Didier as teammates, which may have been one reason to go there.

Cance will stay with Radioshack till 2013, however his lawyers attempted to find a way for him to end his contract early and move elsewhere, but were unsuccessful.

I get the feeling that Radioshack is going to topple next year. All the issues this past year with them teetering, the ongoing fraud investigation into their main financial backer, the Frank doping case, Cancellara wanting to leave, the Andy-Bruyneel dust-up, Voight getting another year older...just a lot of issues, and I can't see this house of cards standing through next year. It could get ugly, they might survive the season, but it won't be pretty at the end, and they'll be gone by 2014.

Fantastic squad, especially for PCM. Sneaky strong cobbles team (Ista, Hinault, Elminger, Goddaert, etc.), Pliuschin and Haussler try to reboot their careers, Lofkvist with a real GC leaders role for the first time since FDJ, and a strong supporting squad. Love it.

1. Great replacement for Breschel!
2. Nice to have another Van Poppel in the Pro peloton
3. Woohoo!
EDIT: Like Willier said, what are your sources?

Firstly it's Danny van Poppel and it's already mentioned (by me) 3 posts above your own.
Secondly what's your source for the other two? It'd be fantastic news for me were it true. |

Sep Vanmarcke - https://www.dhnet....obank.html (French) suggests that he is heading to Rabobank as Breschel's replacement, don't think it has been confirmed yet. |

IAM is looking like a fun team to play with in PCM
On the RadioShack thing, I'm surprised they're surviving in 2013 too. Becca's paying for 2/3 of the team, but according to Luxembourg media he's out of money (has plenty of buildings etc., but no actual money), meaning the team is financed by a bank loan. Needless to say, the bank isn't too happy about that and prefer to see the team closed. |

Take this with a grain of salt, but according to RAI, Cannondale refuse to increase the budget enough to allow Basso's salary to be paid so he might leave
Riis is interested

If google translated correctly, biciciclismo twittered that Cav can leave for OPQS without buying himself out of his Sky-contract.

Basso back in Saxobank?
If that happens, Cannondale will only count on Sagan to make good results, if the team stilll holds some of the cyclists. |
