Regarding Bayern Rundfahrt: The Stölting DS admits they put the wrong gearing on Silvio's bike so he nearly stood still on the steep parts of stage 2.
Which means we can conclude that wasn't 100% his maximum performance
please stop with this extreme fanboyism where nothing is ever the riders fault. i know that ur not alone but its getting ridiculous.
You can read it yourself here.

I'm merely stating that his uphill effort was slightly distorted by that issue.
I did not adress whether Herklotz was to fully or partially blame for the wrong gearing, and I know race strategy and bike knowledge is obviously an important thing for a complete and successful rider as well.
I'm the first to call him stupid if he behaves stupidly in an important situation, but this is only meant as an additional information to whoever is interested in what is one of the first real measurements of the competitiveness of a highly touted young talent probably riding in the very public PCT division next season, and if there's only one other person in this forum interested in his development and without access to the linked article, I believe I have every right and every justification to post this in order to allow that guy to evaluate Thursday's performance correctly or make up their own mind whether it influenced it in whatever way.

I understand and i'm probably just cranky, but some of the fanboys have gone off the rails lately and it's annoying me |

Normally I don't post 2.2 races but I just wanted to show that Mancebo can still ride a bike.

Van der Poel 4th
Saw the stage and Van der Poel was just easily keeping up on the hills, was in the first group when the peloton split and then sprints to 4th.

Nice to see Van der Poel do well. Good to see him get good results when he's hiting his optimal peak shape in his career.

Grosu still in the leader's jersey, I guess. It would be awesome if he could win the overall

sure do, cort even still has the gc lead, with 9 seconds to kristoff, it looks like he has a decent chance of winning his second gc of the year. |
