We now have a translation of Di Luca's remarks. He said "We are going on. We wanted to stop and say thanks for your presence, but we don't feel the need to risk it anymore. The circuit is not adapted to our security."

From cyclingnews:
15:16 CEST
The stage today has been neutralized, by the way. The riders complained that the course was too dangerous. So we can expect a sprint, but we may well see a large bunch hang back and let the sprinters fight it out among themselves. Which is what the sprinters prefer anyway.
That means we won't see any changes in the GC or jerseys (barring something awful happening, which of course we don't hope.)
Good decision. Things might have gotten ugly if everybody was fighting to stay in the "bunch packed". |

Still, this pace is too hard for Haedo. He'll get dropped

This stage is just stupid, I'm done watching. I'll just see the result.

The comments of pretty much everyone who's been interviewed so far have ranged from "this protest makes no sense " to "the riders are idiots". No one is for it.
These people are mainly former riders like Cipollini ("I rode in this same circuit in the rain. It's not a problem") to LPR's DS who is in the team car right now.

Our commentator says Zomelan is very angry at this and that some teams don't agree to the protest and in the next lap we could see a major way to how the race plays out.

There's the rumor that the following riders are behind this:
Micheal Rogers
Lance Armstrong
Ivan Basso
Danilo Di Luca

The peloton now heads up the Corso Bueneos Aires. No, don't worry, they haven't jumped across the ocean to Brazil!
I feel like such a fool for believing that Buenos Aires was in Argentina -- oh, wait ... |
