Jan Bakelants was the first rider to pass Mur de Huy today.
Attacks just before the final pass on Huy
But not from the real big names like Valverde, Kichen or Schleck, who are still in the pack
There were made 2 groups. First one with Pellizotti and Samuel Sanchez
And the second one was made by Voigt, Nocentini and Halgand
The pack, lead by Bertagnolli and Kirchen caught the first group of attackers
Pellizotti and Sanchez are still in front
But Kirchen, who just took over Bertagnolli is coming after them
But it seems that the fastest rider is Valverde
And Alejandro takes over Kirchen and Pellizott&Sanchez are caught
Valverde takes the lead... Kirchen tries to follow him
Valverde gets the win!
Very close finish for second place but Pellizotti wins it followed by Kirchen and Dekker

well Maggot that's quite realistic. Remember last year in RL Fleche there was a big group that was chasing Wegmann (if I remember well) at the start of Huy. Then it was split into pieces with Kirchen, Evans, Cunego, Dekker and Gesink fighting for the win |

A massive breakaway group
But when the climbs came there were made gaps between the escapes. Ljungqvist went alone in front, with Martin caught in the second group
Martin tried then to go after Ljungqvist but the Swedish rider had already an important advantage
So with the pack minutes behind the breakaway, Ljungqvist won the stage and took the yellow jersey
Martin finishes second
Aerts was third with a group of favourites right after him
Rogers, Boom, Ignatiev and Zabriskie were all of them in that group

But then Zabriskie came and beat everyone
A good time for Rogers too.
Millar is close but not close enough to beat Zabriskie
Good performances for Boom and Ignatiev as well

The breakaway.
The yellow jersey lost early the contact with the main pack on the final climb
Then a group with Boom, Martin and Ignatiev cracked
So only Rogers and Zabriskie are in the first group now
But not a long time past and Zabriskie looses the contact
And Rogers decides to attack
Kohl is the only one that can go with him
And with less than 2km to go Kohl even makes a gap between him and Rogers
Rogers tries everything to catch back Kohl
But the Austrian gets the stage
And the Aussie the yellow jersey

anyway, you´ll win LBL I think. would really sum up for a good classic season. wins in ghent wevelgem and LBL wouldn´t be too bad.
I have a suggestion. why not, before every new race, let´s say LBL, that you remind us about last years top5 or top 10. So we remember In that case we can celebrate if your rider have a back to back win! B) |
