Same here. And I'm even trying to get mad. Perhaps I will get mad just because of trying so hard without any success.

Is 1700 the value you actually use to calculate this?
I always thought that you calculated the average slope by dividing the vertical rise of the climb with the horisontal lenght of the climb, and not the diagonal lenght (which in this case is the value '1700'.
What I mean is, and I don't know all these mathematical expressions and names in English, if you have a triangle with an angle B of 90 degrees and then you have the line from angle B, called BC, as it goes from Angle B to C.
BC = 75
Also, because it's a triangle you have a horizontal line AB and a diagonal line AC.
AC = 1700
Because of Pythagoras phesis: AB = Squareroot(1700^2 - 75^2) = 1698
75 / 1698 * 100 = 4,4%
Okay doing these calculations I realized that the difference is non-existent given the climb isn't very steep. At steeper gradient the difference should be greater.
What I'm trying to say is, isn't this how you're supposed to calculate the average slope for the exact value or have I been living a lie?

What you are saying is true but I am not sure about the 1.4 being the length ridden as opposed to the horizontal distance, I have always assumed that the measurements are the horizontal distances covered

It is the horizontal length, yes. I though that's what he was giving.

oh Eurosport stealing all the fun, so i uploaded the Contador bonking youtube video, someone liked it and sent it to the procycling fellas.
Eurosport does a copyright claim and bye bye all the fun. (And to top it off it no longer says "due to a copyright claim" on the deletion, it now says "Video removed by user".)

Watching an Estonian TV show right now. They are talking about a Russian documentary (read fiction) that was made in response to arresting their spy (who worked for Estonian coverment) last year.
Anyway the promotion clip to the movie had a lot of action, explosions and a guy speaking in Russian about Estonia having a lot of spies in Russia. And after all the propaganda they wonder why we don´t take seriously anyone speaking russian.
In the movie they have one act after another, one more false than other. They have testimonies from russians who said they spied for Estonia (interesting fact: they are still out of jail).
Also they have a recording of an Estonian KAPO guy recruting a russian. On the tape they speak in Russian, while the Estonian is speakin, the quality gets worse but it can still be heard that the Estonian speaks russian like a russian (with no accent whatsoever).
Officials think that the film was made to make people think that catching their spy is a small deal and that Estonia is the bad one. Russian media only had a few stories about their spy being caught, all of them traslated from foreign media.
So, I participated in the Danish Championship in FIFA today. Was knocked out in the 1st round (won/lost/draw 1-1-1). Then I hurried up and participated in a football/soccer match. Missed the first half, but got there in there for the 2nd and was subbed in. We lost 8-1.
Ok, so at my school, we have an own "Radio station". Fairly simple, just some students playing music in the breaks.
Then, when todays break began, we all went into the area supposed for it and where the music is playing... and they are playing this song as we enter:
