Nothing (that I know of), so I don't cheer for him. |

Tomorrow should be interesting fight between Moncoutié and Montaguti for KoM. Moncoutié should get it though. And I say this, because I think both are going for the breakaway.
You know what happens in those cases ?
Attacks, attacks and attacks. In the end, either both riders manage to get in a break and work together, either a break without any of them goes. If only one of them goes the other's team will chase him down. |

I don't think I'm supporting anyone in particular here.
Still some people cheer for Cobo, so I'm just asking if there's anything great about him. |

You obviously cannot read what I write.
Quote me saying he has done nothing great if I have said so.
My question still holds : what's great about Cobo ? |

Quote from Sky's home page: "When Mollema went soon after that, Bradley was strong enough to keep up with him, which was good to see and he was able to defend his third-placed position."
Looks like third place overall means more to Wiggins than trying to get Froome in red. If he was strong enough to follow an acceleration from Mollema, he should surely been strong enough to attack Cobo, instead of pacing the favourite group for a couple of kilometres.
Today is the first day I think Sky messed up tactically. They've done a good race so far, and playing it for Froome after the TT/before Angliru, would have been a jeopardy, as they had no idea how he would respond to another week of racing. So their solution of going with Wiggins as leader was correct, at least in my eyes. After Angliru, it was obviously Froome who was #1, and they did yesterday pretty good with that in mind. Today though, they completely lacked the tactical skills to shake off Cobo. It was always going to be easy for him, as long as he "only" had to follow Froome. I twould have been a lot worse if Wiggins had a go at it, early on the climb, and then let Froome try after him.
But Geox has been really strong this Vuelta, especially Menchov and De la Fuente have been great for Cobo.

What Sky should have done was to maybe get Wiggins to attack only to be followed by Froome. If Cobo followed them then they could do a "Schleck" and double-team him. |

Trying to get Wiggins to attack would not have changed the end result. Cobo has no huge need to chase Wiggins down - he has a sufficient gap there - and Wiggins is not an aggressive styled rider anyway, so would have struggled to make a huge impact - and potentially end up putting his own podium spot more at risk.
Perhaps Froome should have attacked earlier, but the route was never going to be hard enough today for him to get rid of Cobo. At least Sky made the effort to try something.

Yeah that doesn't work. The Schlecks aren't exactly the riders you would want to copy tactics from

Mollema actually had a bad day according to the Rabobank site and felt tired already after the first climb of the Vivero.
So I don't think Wiggins being able to follow Mollema said much about his strength or possible weapon against Cobo. |

Amen
When has that tactic ever worked for them?

It was pretty clear that Mollema wasn't having the best day. He sat at the back of the group until the final climb started.

The tactic is good. The problem is the Schlecks, not the tactic.

Of course it is. They're the only ones who can't use it.
That's why they've introduced a whole new concept to modern cycling: "The Schleck Sandwich"

Regardless of tactics, today was never going to be hard enough to gap Cobo. And even if he did, Cobo had De La Fuente and Menchov with him. Highly doubt Froome would've made it to the line.
