That rule only applies if the player is 28 years old or older and that's not his case.
Btw, FC Porto are now back on the Champions League...

UEFA has overturned the decision and will now re-judge the matter. the explanation for the decision? there are two motives
1. Platini had already convicted Porto before the trial was even over
2. There is no actual proof against Porto. just jealous people pointing fingers and saying "they won the league by 25 points because they cheated"

You're mistaken. it applies to any player. If at the time of signing the contract, the player is 27 or younger, it's 3 years. if he's 28 or older, it's 2 years

Ronaldinho has sent out a kind of "please sign me" plea to Big Phil Scolari. He says that if he signs him at Chelsea then he will ressurect his career. He obviosuly doesn't like Man City

did anyone worthwhile say that? I'll only believe it if I see footage of him saying that or if I read it in OJogo, which is the only newspaper who I've never seen break the news of a transfer that didn't end up happening.
EDIT: according to OJogo, the news are from a swedish site. OJogo says the teams involved are Chelsea and Inter. either way, if he's leaving, that means 40 million for an overrated 24 year old with the potential to be world class.

FC Barcelona and AC Milan have reached an official agreement so the transfer of Gianluca Zambrotta to the Italian club can be completed.
The 31-year-old defender will put pen-to-paper on a four-year contract with the Serie A outfit that will see him play at the San Siro until 2012. The transfer fee is €9m plus €2m more depending upon Milan’s performance in the Champions League over the next four seasons.

Spanish star David Villa has hinted he would like to move to Liverpool, if he heads to England this summer.
Villa, who has linked up so well with current Reds star Fernando Torres for Spain, admits he would be tempted by the prospect of playing with him on a weekly basis.
"Liverpool and Chelsea are both big clubs with a lot of attraction," he told the News of the World.
Villa also admitted that Liverpool's Spanish coach Rafa Benitez could play a big role in attracting him as he tried to sign him earlier in his career.
"Liverpool have a Spanish coach and I also have a lot of friends there," he said.
"When Rafa was coach at Valencia and I was at Zaragoza there was contact about me joining Valencia but I couldn't arrive until the year after he left there."
As I said somewhere else, Liverpool would be unstoppable with both Villa and Torres. I still don't see it happening this season though.

Final decision: Porto are in the CL. Here's something I never thought I'd say: UEFA made a just decision
Not that (considering the complete lack of any evidence whatsoever) any sane person could make a different decision, but with UEFA you just never know...

And now the sports ministers of Spain and Portugal are pushing for a joint Portugal-Spain bid to host the 2018 World Cup. weird.

Man City's hopes of signing Jo Alves from CSKA Moscow for £18million, are fading after the fact it is against the rules for players in the Premiership to be owned by a 3rd party, after the Carlos Tevez saga.
Jo Alves is owned by someone called Kia Joorabchian...where have I heard that name before...oh yes, he caused the Tevez saga. Anyway, he says that he is trying to work around the situation.
-------------
Man Utd are showing their interest in Wesley Sneider as a long-term replacement for Scholes. Whether this is just an attempt to annoy Real Madrid I don't know.
Real Madrid are considering bidding £40million + Robinho for Cristiano Ronaldo. I think Man Utd want them to throw Sneider into the deal.

That's called being behind the times. More players nowadays are owned by third parties than those who aren't. It's gonna cost english clubs in the future.

Funny way of asking C. Ronaldo about his future:
"Which dish is your favourite? Fish and chips or paella?" |
