Well, for those who didnt see it; all credits go to Renshaw (once again)
He rushed past some quick steps in the final corner with Hagen rigth on his tail giving him the best possible leadout. Goss was in his wheel but couldnt pass him. Farrar had to come from pretty far and although he may well have ridden the fastest sprint, he was only third. |

I live, and have lived, in Roermond for 20 years, and believe me, it is completely flat. Only the 100m before the last 350m were uphill, because you come out of a tunnel, but it isn't hard, on my race bike I have sprinted 48 km/h there 'uphill' (you bring the speed from the downhill prior to it). The last 350m are 0.00000000000%
Anyway, to bad the finish in the ardennes stage wasn't in Valkenburg. Pretty sure Hagen would have lost at least half a minute then. He was cracking seriously yesterday on 3 climbs, among them the Doodeman and the Cauberg. So if they would have the finish in Vilt (like in the Tour 2006) instead of Sittard-Geleen, I doubt Hagen could have won.
But ok, the ENECO organisation rather has easy profiles and foreign winners. We're not like Switzerland, were they make the profiles so Cancellara can win |

So Edvald only won the sprint because of Renshaw, Farrar was faster than him in the sprint and Edvald would have cracked had yesterday's stage been been a little harder.
Great

Well I would say this ENECO Tour has been tailor-made for him. Ofcourse he already knew that, because he said this was one of his goals.

Congrats to EBH!!! Also, Farrar for his great showing over the last week of racing!
Simon Gerrans winning in Plouey!! That is sweet, and Dan Martin was able to get 5th for Garmin |

Anyone's got a stream for the TT, none of the myp2p ones seems to work.

Great TT by Hagen
If children have the ability to ignore all odds and percentages, then maybe we can all learn from them. When you think about it, what other choice is there but to hope? We have two options, medically and emotionally: give up, or Fight Like Hell.

I know people get annoyed when anyone gets too excited about a rider... and people have been getting very excited about Boasson Hagen for years now...
but this year he's done enough that it's right to show some excitement about him... maybe even as much as the biggest fans are showing.
Here is a brief list of his 2009 results:
3rd - Challenge Mallorca
1st - Gent-Wevelgem
Part of TTT win in Giro (stage 1)
2nd - Stage 6 of Giro
1st - Stage 7 of Giro
2nd - Stage 8 of Giro
3rd - Stage 21 of Giro
1st - National ITT championship
1st - Stage 4 Tour of Pologne
1st - Stage 6 Tour of Pologne
3rd - GC of Tour of Pologne
3rd - Stage 1 of Eneco
3rd - Stage 2 of Eneco
2nd - Stage 4 of Eneco
2nd - Stage 5 of Eneco
1st - Stage 6 of Eneco
1st - Stage 7 of Eneco
1st - GC of Eneco
While he's not going to win any grand tours, I don't think it's going out on too far of a limb to say he's probably one of the top 25 overall riders this year to date. Amazing talent. |

Yeah, and not only are they great results, he's also done few notable races this year that are not on this list.
So my point being, he's good in pretty much every race he does.

He's had a fantstic season. What gets on my nerves are the two most common types of Hagen fans.
Type 1: "Hagen is going to win the Tour one day. He can do it if he wants to." Ignores all logic.
And worse, type 2. The guys who see that type1 are insane people, and thus think "but I'm not like that", when they really are like that to a smaller scale. These are the guys who will say that despite no young prospect rider ever being a certainty, Hagen is a sure-fire thing and will be awesome. Who the hell knows.
These are the guys who say hagen will win Amstels and Lieges and etc for years to come. These are the guys who think Hagen can one day win cobbles, sprints, time trials and mountain stages, but think they're entirely realistic because they don't think Hagen will be Merckx.
The fans are immensely annoying and frustrating. Not Hagen. Hagen is a down to earth guy who doesn't annoy anyone.

Many good points there Isso, I admit i am a bit of both types........
What annoys me about the discussions about Edvald in this forum is everytime he wins something, some people are always quick to point out the reason why Edvald won(not because he was the best, but because of other factors)
At least today he won a TT even in some of the worst conditions, so nobody can say it was luck today |

Well I believe he is going to be #3 on the UCI Ranking now, so I believe he is already awesome and one of the best riders in the world...... |

He is 12th on CQ ranking for 2009 so yeah he is one of the best, don't use UCI ranking as evidence though, CQ ranking is much better.
