My thoughts from the day:
good win from Cav
Something was bound to happen with the wind at some point
WTF Astana?

Because he made the split doesn't make him better than Contador, it makes him smarter, I've never doubted Amrstrongs positioning skills, there's a reason Astana was using him to position the team at the end yesterday.

I haven't said that Armstrong is better than Contador.. And I've said that about Armstrong is better to position than Contador earlier too... I where only asking you who is the best Astana rider? Then I mean GC ofcourse

woah, great stage. everything changed in a splitsecond from 'just another day' into a rabobankish bordure battle.
good ride by the skill guys there, too bad van Hummel wasnt there, but they still got a third place which really is good for them. well done by both Cancellara and Armstrong as well. being there when you need to.
the chase in the back never was really organized and although it was 20+ riders relaying, they never really stood a chance.
All in all, a nice stage to watch for everyone I think |

that was very stupid of Zubeldia and Popovych...They shouldn't work in the front group...Everyone knows that Lance Armstrong can't win the Tour ..Contador will be the leader of Astana. The chance of Lance winning the Tour is 1/10000000000..

Why stupid? Armstrong gained time on all GC riders; he was the only GC rider there. (I'm not counting rogers and kirchen as gc riders) |

Interesting stage today:
Cavendish and Columbia superb again! They do have a superstrong squad granted but they show over and over that they have clever tactics. It was nice to see Thor having a go at Cav, this looks like a theme for the rest of the race already Cav has 70 points in the green jersey - Boonan, Bennatti and Friere have none!
Armstrong shows once again like he did in his tour wins (recalling 1999 when they went over that passage thingee) that he has good positioning skills and doesn't get caught out by splits. I don't think Zubeldia and Popo working on the front means anything but it does add to the astana soap opera.
Interesting day tomorrow - Astana, Saxo Bank and Columbia - who is good enough to win and who will have the yellow jersey? I feel that Saxo should be good enough to keep Cancellara in Yellow. Though I think Astana will win the TT Popo, Paulinho, Zubeldia are all really strong TTers as well as the top 4 (klodi, Leip, armstrong and Conta). |

Astana had nothing to lose by working. Now they have both Conta and Armstrong high in the GC. |
