May News on Team Sky
In his book Boy Racer Mark Cavendish rules out a move to Team Sky in 2010.
Dutch riders Karsten Kroon (Saxo Bank), Laurens Ten Dam (Rabobank) and Spaniard Juan Antonio Flecha (Rabobank) are next to be linked to the team.
Italian media reports that Italian duo Danilo Di Luca and Alessandro Petacchi, who ride for LPR Brakes, are targets for Team Sky. Although Sky's management team are not commenting on specific rumours, they did rule out this one.
sky may have been in the running for di luca still he got banned.
June 2009
June 30 CW understands the 2010 Team Sky roster will feature eight or nine British riders.
A number of riders have already signed 26-page contracts with Team Sky for 2010. No names confirmed, but the contracts apparently go into great detail regarding the rules and expected conduct.
Quarrata, the Tuscan town which is home to the Great Britain Academy team, will also be a base for the Sky team.
Garmin rule out the idea of Bradley Wiggins and David Millar joining Sky on the basis that Wiggins has a contract for 2010 and Millar is a co-owner of the Garmin team.
Team coach Shane Sutton appears to let slip in a BBC interview that the squad has signed David Millar, Bradley Wiggins, Geraint Thomas and Steve Cummings for 2010.
Rod Ellingworth checks out potential training camp venues in Spain, while testing for kit and equipment continues apace.
The bike trade is buzzing with rumours. Some asume it's a done deal with Boardman bikes, others suggest Pinarello are in line to supply the bikes, but no one from Team Sky will comment until contracts are signed. Adidas is strongly rumoured to be the kit supplier, but not confirmed.
Team Sky's European base and Service de Course is set to be in the Belgian
July 2009
Rumours fly around at the Tour de France. Cervélo's Serge Pauwels is linked to the team by the Dutch press. CW understands Pauwels is a target, but no deal is signed.
More rumours suggest Edvald Boasson Hagen and Thomas Lovkvist (both Columbia) will sign, as our sister magazine Cycle Sport speculated in December.
Team Sky is set to compete for the first time in January 2010. The Tour Down Under in Adelaide, Australia, could be the first race for the British-backed pro team.

During versus' coverage of the Tour today Phil Ligget mentioned Lance expressing interest in moving Brice Feillu to his new team. Brice responded saying only if Romain can come too. Interesting. |

Are you sure ? They have contacts with FDJ but I don't think it's more than that, it's the third teams with rumours to sign the Feillus. |

I don't know if it's a good idea for him to go to Fdj...
Most of the young promising french riders who stay in a french team aren't better after some years. Look at Chavanel, he had to go to QuickStep to be really good on North Classics. |

FdJ is a clean team - that's why they should go there |

In French teams a lot of the training is left to the rider himself, they dont care what you do as long as you show up for the races and do your job. If riders can do everything themselves they will be fine, if not, you will probably turn out like most French riders.. haha |

Congratulations, you just described almost every team, with one of the very notable exceptions being FDJ |

Not really isso. He described every FRENCH team, except Fdj maybe.
I know for a fact that at Garmin, Rabobank, Skil and Vacansoleil, for 100% sure the riders are being monitored and helped in their training.
I also know for 100% sure at Bouygues and Cofidis this is not the fact |

I know for a fact that every italian and spanish team with the exception of ISD the training is "we'll have a short training camp in january, then you go off by yourselves and show up at the races". |
