I won again the other night- same format as the last one, got into a break with two others and won from the sprint. I wasn't feeling well and have since gone down with a full blown cold , so opted for the 3/4 race. Perhaps that was a bit unfair, as I have been doing a few all category races recently.

Clearly I'm missing some kind of physical ability to win in circuits... If only I could actually get placings in races...

You won't get a place in Hillingdon this late I imagine. Plus it'll be packed with all the pros... go for the easier races
Spoke with the organiser, it is indeed to late.......thought as it was a closed circuit and the field isn't overly big I might of got in....looks like Goodwood or Castle Combe for me then..... |

Yeah, with it being one of the Premier Circuit races, you're doing lucky to get a ride even if you enter in time. They usually chose the riders depending on previous results/points gained this year/team they ride for/etc. So if you'd entered in time, with the amount of points you've scored in circuits, you'd probs have gotten a ride... Oh well, always next year eh? Elite bashing can always wait...

long way to go yet rjc. my season really gets underway on the last weekend of may. i'm finished at uni now so it's a case of ramping up my training to get started again. i think i've kept up with my training quite well fir the last month or so so hopefully it won't take too long to get back up to full fitness. got a club 10 this wednesday where i hope to finish in the top 2 at least. depends on who turns up really. not expecting a fast time as the course is not the best. |

I won yesterday at a circuit race in Munroe Falls OH. It came down to a sprint of what was left of the field after a pretty tough race which delighted me because 9/10 a field sprint = win for me heh here's a few pictures for any who are interested.

did a club 10tt yesterday night. the course wasn't the best and it's probably a good minute (and maybe a half ) slower then a decent course (not a fast one). last year we used part of it as an alternative hilly course so it obviously isn't a fast course.
i did it in 24.39 to take second which i was quite pleased with given my lack of structured training in the last month or two and the undulating gradients. we use the same course in 3 weeks time which is perfect as i'll be able to get an idea of how i am improving now i can concentrate more on some proper training.
my first proper tt is on the 30th of may. after that i'll be racing in some form or other every weekend until i go on holiday in early july. so this is the start of a nice block of 7 or so weeks to get back into top shape after my uni lay-off. got in 6 training sessions in the last 3 days. now i get to rest till tuesday cause i'm off to wales for a few days where i'll be planning my training schedule for the next few weeks.
i was pleasently supprised today. whenever i go out for a brisk 2 hour ride i have a series of circuits that i time myself on. not racing, just staying in HR zone 2. today i beat my pb on that particular circuit so i must still have some of the form i had earlier in the year lurking around somewhere in my legs. |
